In screw-type flaring, the first three steps are the same as for impact flaring, namely, the tube cut to length and all burrs removed, and the coupling nut is then slipped over the end of the tube. The tube is clamped in the flaring bar so that the end of the tube is slightly above the face of the bar.... The yoke of the flaring tool is placed on the bar so that the bevelled end of the compressor cone is over the tube end. The compressor screw is tightened down forming the flare between the chamfer of the flaring bar and the bevelled compressor cone.
