La Fondation canadienne de la jeunesse est un organisme de bienfaisance à but non lucratif fondé en 1986, dont le travail principal de recherche sert d'assise à la création d'un centre de renseignements sur la jeunesse canadienne. This project is based among the Masai people in Kajiado District, Kenya. Working with men and women of all ages, the project provides opportunities for people to use their environmental understanding to generate income through activities like ecotourism, efficient charcoal making, ostrich rearing, and arts and crafts. As well, there are activities designed to improve housing and offer education programs for local youth. Le Programme d'aménagement de l'écosystème Elangata Wuas est mis en place parmi les populations de Masais du district Kényan de Kajiado. Associant hommes et femmes de tout âge, le projet est l'occasion de comprendre les maintes façons de tirer parti d'un milieu de vie particulier pour stimuler l'économie. Les activités proposées sont nombreuses : écotourisme, nouvelles techniques de fabrication du charbon de bois, élevage des autruches et artisanat; d'autres volets prévoient l'amélioration du logement et des programmes d'éducation offerts aux jeunes. The Youth Apprenticeship Program for Landscape Horticulture(Ontario Region) is a one-year project providing academic and life skills training to 50 youth of whom 20% will be persons with disabilities. This program will combine practical, hands-on training at a landscape training centre, on-the-job experience with a horticultural firm, and certification of successful participants in keeping with the accreditation process currently being developed by the industry. Le Projet d'apprentissage pour les jeunes en horticulture paysagiste (Région de l'Ontario) est une d'une durée d'un an, offrira une formation scolaire et une formation en dynamique de vie à 50 jeunes dont 20 p. 100 seront des personnes handicapées. Le programme offre une combinaison de formation pratique (dispensée dans une centre de formation en paysagisme) et d'expérience en milieu de travail (acquise auprès d'une entreprise horticole), ainsi que la reconnaissance des compétences acquises pour les participants ayant réussi leur stage conformément au processus de reconnaissance professionnelle en voie d'établissement dans l'industrie.
