OBS

In 1961, the Canadian Science Fairs Council was formed. In 1966, the Council was replaced by the Youth Science Foundation. Its purposes went beyond science fairs and extended to supporting scientists and teachers, coordinating extra-curricular activities in science, engineering and technology, and promoting a better understanding of the role of these fields in national and international affairs. In 1995, the organization changed its name to Youth Science Foundation Canada and, in 2008, to Youth Science Canada.

La raison d'être de cette organisation s'étendait bien au-delà des expo–sciences pour inclure le soutien aux scientifiques et au personnel enseignant, la coordination d'activités parascolaires relevant des sciences, du génie et de la technologie, ainsi que la promotion d'une meilleure compréhension du rôle de ces derniers dans le cadre des affaires nationales et internationales. Cette organisation a changé de nom en 1995 pour devenir la Fondation sciences jeunesse Canada, puis, en 2008, pour devenir Sciences jeunesse Canada.

It was sponsored by the Ontario Social Development Council, The Children's Services Coordinating and Advisory Group for the Districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin, and the Faculty of Social Work Laurentian University.
