In the summer of 2003, the Commander of Maritime Forces Pacific implemented the first RAVEN Aboriginal Youth Employment Program. This outreach program is designed to build bridges into the Aboriginal communities in Canada and to make Aboriginal youth aware of potential military or civilian careers with the Department of National Defence.

The program is a total of 7 weeks long and gives you a very good idea at life in the Canadian Forces. You can complete the program with the option – but no commitment – to pursue a career in the Reserve Force, Regular Force, or work in a [c]ivilian [o]ccupation with the National Defence.

Le programme d'emploi pour jeunes Autochtones RAVEN a été instauré par le Commandant des Forces maritimes du Pacifique à l'été 2003. Ce programme de prise de contact vise à tisser des liens avec les collectivités autochtones du Canada et à faire connaître à la jeunesse autochtone les possibilités de carrière militaire ou civile au ministère de la Défense nationale (MDN).

Le programme RAVEN, qui dure en tout sept semaines, vous donnera une très bonne idée de la vie dans les Forces canadiennes (FC). Bien qu'il n'exige aucun engagement de votre part, il vous donne la possibilité de poursuivre ensuite une carrière dans la Force de réserve ou dans la Force régulière, ou encore d'occuper un poste civil au MDN.
