Project Youth-Link focuses on youth talking across Canada. The Project Youth-Link "room" is a forum for students to have a live discussion about the issues and concerns of young Canadians today. Students from across the country are electronically linked to each other so that they can talk live over the Internet using the SchoolNet MOO. The Minister of Canadian Heritage, Sheila Copps, officially launched Youth-Link on February 16th, 1996 as part of "Canada-Take it to Heart" week. Project Youth-Link is a joint initiative of the Department of Canadian Heritage and Industry Canada.

Le projet Échange-Jeunesse vise à amener les jeunes de l'ensemble du Canada à dialoguer entre eux. La «salle» du projet Échange-Jeunesse est un lieu où les élèves peuvent discuter en direct des questions et préoccupations des jeunes Canadiens d'aujourd'hui. Les élèves de partout au pays sont en communication les uns avec les autres par voie électronique, de sorte qu'ils peuvent se parler en direct sur l'Internet en passant par le MOO du Réseau scolaire canadien. La ministre du Patrimoine canadien, Sheila Copps, a lancé officiellement Échange-Jeunesse le 16 février 1996 dans le cadre de la semaine «Le Canada, une affaire de cœur». The findings of the 2002 Canadian Public Opinion Survey on Youth and Sport revealed that people believe that sport is falling short of its potential to teach youth positive values. To address this, the CCES’ National Sport Ethics Forum held The Sport We Want Symposium in September 2003. The Symposium's purpose was to initiate a compelling dialogue on a national scale about community-level sport and why it is failling to achieve its potential to positively influence the moral and personal development of youth and strengthen communities.

En réponse à ces résultats et à d'autres recherches connexes, le Forum national sur l'éthique dans le sport du CCES a tenu un Symposium en septembre 2003 ayant pour thème Le sport que nous voulons. Le but du Symposium était d'amorcer un dialogue probant à l'échelle nationale sur le sport communautaire et sur les raisons pour lesquelles il n'est pas exploité à son maximum afin d'influer de façon positive sur l'épanouissement moral et personnel des jeunes, ainsi que sur sa capacité de renforcer les collectivités.

Youth for Exchange and Understanding(YEU) is an International Non-Governmental Youth Organisation established in 1986 and member of the European Youth Forum in Brussels as an INGYO. The main aim of the Youth for Exchange and Understanding is to promote peace, understanding and co-operation between the young people of the world, in a spirit of respect for human rights. To achieve these YEU will thus provide activities to foster closer co-operation and better understanding among the young people of the world, both between and within continents, particularly by encouraging the exchange of information; to stimulate mutual aid in the developed and the developing countries for cultural, educational and social purposes; to encourage the interdenominational exchange of ideas and opinions; to improve the relationships among young people of countries with differing political systems; to work together on issues affecting people and their environment.

In response to the challenge of engaging rural youth in the future of their communities, the National Rural Youth Network was formed in 2003.

The National Rural Youth Network(NRYN) will provide a forum for young Canadians to learn from one another, connect with peers across the country and share information and their perspective on issues of importance to rural youth. The NRYN will be a means for the Government of Canada to solicit input from and to provide information to young Canadians from rural, remote and northern communities on federal policies, programs and services. The NRYN will also function as a mechanism to actively engage the participation of young rural Canadians on federal initiatives targeted at youth.

Canadian Rural Partnership, Pilot Projects 2000-2001. Nova Scotia. Federal Partner : Department of Justice. This project places at-risk young offenders with the Tantramar Theatre Society as technicians, bos office staff and set construction crew members. The youth will also create their own theatre piece. The project aims to encourage youth to work on a team, while providing a forum for them to express their feelings in a non-destructive way.

The International Youth Forum Against Racism, which took place at the Canadian Pavilion at the World Exposition in Hanover, Germany on August 8-12, built on the accomplishments of youth who participated in the "Action 2000" initiative. It provided world youth with an opportunity to advance the work they had begun at the International Stop Racism Youth Forum in Ottawa. It also emphasized developing strategies for youth input and participation in the deliberations and decision-making of established international bodies.
