Nicotine use is a leading cause of preventable deaths worldwide, and most of those who attempt to quit will relapse. While electronic cigarettes and other electronic nicotine delivery systems(ENDS) were presented as a safer alternative to traditional cigarettes and promoted as devices to help traditional tobacco smokers reduce or quit smoking, they have instead contributed to increasing nicotine use among youths. 3, record 1, English, - nicotine%20use

nicotine use: The word "use" has been suggested to replace the word "abuse." In some contexts, it might be necessary to qualify it to distinguish between different types of use (for example, "harmful use," "hazardous use," "problematic use" or "risky use"). In this case and depending on the context, the reason for the chosen qualifiers should be explained, and the different designations clearly defined. However, some people prefer to avoid qualifying the word "use" as they see this as stigmatizing. 4, record 1, English, - nicotine%20use

The Strengthening Families Program(SFP) is a family skills training program designed to reduce risk factors for substance use and other problem behaviors in high-risk children of substance abusers including behavioral problems, emotional, academic and social problems. SFP builds on protective factors by improving family relationships, parenting skills, and improving the youth's social and life skills. It is designed for families with children ages 6 to 10 and has been modified for African-American families, Asian/Pacific Islanders in Utah and Hawaii, rural families, early teens in the Midwest, and Hispanic families. Although originally developed for children of high-risk substance abusers, SFP is widely used for non-substance abusing parents. 1, record 18, English, - Strengthening%20Families%20Program

In the province of New Brunswick, Social Service, Educational and Mental Health agencies felt that a group of multi-agency, regionally based clinical teams would have the best chance of creating the kind of care plans that would be most acceptable to the youth and his/her family, as well as to the school and community. With these facts in mind, they developed and implemented a provincial system entitled the Youth Treatment Program(YTP). The provincial Youth Treatment Program is geared to serve severely conduct disordered youths(18 years and under) who have experienced loss in family life and have faced difficulties in both school and community settings. 1, record 22, English, - Youth%20Treatment%20Program
