YCKC actively promotes the sport of canoeing and kayaking in the Yukon. Not only does the club organize events like the annual Whitehorse Whitewater Rodeo, it also has a youth kayaking program and is in the process of establishing an urban whitewater recreational park(along with the Yukon Energy Corporation, City of Whitehorse and other organizations).
