The Kluane Ranges are a chain of mountains in the Yukon that run parallel to Haines Road and the Alaska Highway. The Western Canada Party(WCP) is a Canadian political party that advocates the separation from Canada of the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba as well as the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut to form a new country. The WIP ran 52 candidates across western Canada in the federal election of 1988. All the candidates were soundly defeated with none garnering even 1% of the popular vote in any riding. The party also has or had provincial branches in each of the provinces. The federal wing of the Western Independence Party was dormant; they have not run any candidates in any federal elections since 1988. We will be celebrating Yukon's lively and colourful past, so whether people are into dog sledding, chainsaw chucking, sourdough sam's, flour packing, watching can-can dancers, taking in the hairy leg contest or simply enjoying a get together with friends and family, everyone is guaranteed a great time during the festival. Qu'on apprécie les courses de traîneaux à chiens, les concours de scie à chaîne, les mets de Sourdough Sam, l'ensachage de farine, le french cancan ou les concours de jambes les plus poilues, ou simplement qu'on veuille faire la fête avec les amis et la famille, on est assuré de s'amuser lors de ce festival.
