Using their siphons, the invasive zebra and quagga mussels have dramatically changed the Great Lakes by shifting primary production out of the water column and into the bottom, benthic zone. As a result, there is an increase in invertebrate fish food for bottom feeders. This process of shifting the importance and energy flow of the lakes to the bottom is known as benthification. 1, record 2, English, - benthification

3, record 8, French, - z%C3%A8bre%20de%20Gr%C3%A9vy

It shares his domain which can cover from 80 to 200 km² with other families. Activity of zebra is diurnal, his cry is enough similar to braying of donkey, his hearing keen, his sight quite good but his smell poor. Burchell zebra eats grasses, some leaves and the bark.
