Record 2 1993-09-13

English

Subject field(s)
  • Atomic Physics
DEF

A closed configuration produced by a series of magnetic wells. The elimination of interchange instability implies that the plasma would be in a region where the magnetic field is minimum but not zero and increases in all directions. For topological reasons, the minimum-B configuration can be realized only on the average in a closed configuration. The distance between two successive magnetic wells shall be short enough to prevent interchange instability.

OBS

Terms standardized by ISO.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Physique atomique
DEF

OBS

Terme normalisé par l'ISO.

English

Subject field(s)
  • Chemistry
  • Water Treatment (Water Supply)
CONT

[A] zero hardness can be obtained by combining in the same vessel a carboxylic layer and a sulphonic layer regenerated in turn with a strong acid and a solution of sodium chloride. Physical elimination of the carbonic acid produced by the ion exchange is of course always necessary.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Chimie
  • Traitement des eaux
CONT
