2, record 11, French, - amplificateur%20%C3%A0%20mise%20en%20forme%20par%20ligne%20%C3%A0%20retard

[Transceiver Search. ] The second method is the grid method. When you find a signal, traverse back and forth across the slope. Where you think the signal is strongest(or, better yet, midway between fade points), you simply make a perpendicular turn(90 degrees to the old direction) and follow this new line. If the signal fades, it's the wrong way, so turn around(180 degrees) and march in the other direction until you hear the strongest signal(remember to keep turning down the volume). Turn 90 degrees again and repeat the process over and over until you zero in on the buried beacon. 4, record 15, English, - grid%20search%20method

An important element of quality control known as a zero defect program is aimed at eliminating defects and therefore improving quality in the product line. It assumes that defects are caused by lack of knowledge, lack of proper facilities, and lack of attention. A zero defect program conditions employees to realize that defects need not happen. It challenges the individual to establish goals for superior performance and to strive for personal excellence. As an employee achieves this, defects are reduced, and the quality of the product improves. Such a program also provides recognition of individual achievement. 2, record 16, English, - zero%2Ddefect%20program

The inclination of a satellite, together with its orbital altitude and the period of its orbit, creates a track defined by an imaginary line connecting the satellite and the Earth's center. The intersection on the line with the Earth's surface is the subsatellite point. As the Earth turns on its axis and the satellite orbits overhead, a line is created by the satellite's apparent path over the ground(the series of subsatellite points connected). A geostationary satellite has an inclination of essentially zero, and, because its orbital period exactly matches the Earth's rotation, its ground track is reduced to an apparent stationary point on the equator. 5, record 17, English, - ground%20track

A good understanding of the basic axis system used to describe aircraft motion is necessary to fully appreciate flight test data, since all measurements are referenced to this axis system. Aircraft translational motion is described in terms of motion in three different directions, each direction being perpendicular to the other two(orthogonal). Motion in the X direction is forward and aft velocity. The Y direction produces sideways motion to the left and right, and up and down motion is in the Z direction... There are several slightly different versions of the basic axis system just described. They differ primarily in the exact placement of the zero reference lines, but are generally similar in their directions.(For example, the body-axis system uses the fuselage center line as the x axis, while a wind-axis system uses the direction that the aircraft is moving through the air as the x axis.) 4, record 25, English, - body%20axis%20system

Where positioning accuracy is concerned, it may seem surprising that the accuracy provided by the gyros has more impact than that of the accelerometers... This is due to the fact that navigation in fact occurs on a sphere, the Earth. It will therefore be readily understood that traveling along a straight line on the Earth comes down in fact to a rotation, and that rotation is detected by the gyros. In practice, gyros are subject to a zero-error known as gyro bias : When there is no rotation, a gyro should indicate zero, but in fact measures something that is the bias value. When an inertial navigation system is immobile, the gyros measure bias values that are integrated by the calculator and the unit thinks that it is rotating, and therefore advancing across the surface of the terrestrial globe, which generates a position error. It will be understood that position error shows linear growth over time and there is a direct relationship between the accuracy of a gyro and position drift. 1, record 27, English, - zero%2Derror

In mathematical terms, vertical lines run parallel to the y axis and horizontal lines run parallel to the x axis. Axis locks serve this function in an interactive design system. When the user draws a line with the axis lock turned on, the system assumes that a perfectly vertical or horizontal line is desired and sets the y or x difference of the roughly specified line to zero, locking it into a horizontal or vertical orientation. 1, record 52, English, - axis%20lock

The ridge count from each finger is obtained by counting the number of ridges traversing a straight line running from the triradius to the centre of the pattern. The sum of the counts from the 10 fingers makes up the total ridge count. Since an arch has no triradius, its ridge count will be zero; while a whorl, with two triradii will normally have a higher ridge count than a loop. 1, record 54, English, - total%20ridge%20count

1, record 54, French, - compte%20total%20des%20cr%C3%AAtes

Basically, charts are drawn according to the system of rectangular co-ordinates. Rectangular co-ordinates are based on two straight reference lines perpendicular to each other in a plane(...) The horizontal line is usually referred to as the X-axis, or the abscissa, whereas the vertical line is referred to as the Y-axis, or the ordinate. The two lines divide the plane into four parts called quadrants(...) The point of intersection of the two lines is called the origin, or zero point. Scales are labeled along the two axes, beginning at the point of origin. The abscissas(...) to the right of the origin are conventionally designated as positive, whereas those to the left of the origin are negative. The ordinates(...) above the origin are positive, and those below the origin are negative. Any point on the plane may refer to two values according to the two scales. 1, record 58, English, - system%20of%20rectangular%20co%2Dordinates
