The NDVI has been correlated with such physical measurements as total standing biomass green leaf-area index (LAI) and per cent vegetation cover but is probably best described as a relative measure of vegetation vigor and photosynthetic activity. 4, record 1, English, - normalized%20difference%20vegetation%20index
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI) is the ratio between the difference and sum of two spectral bands. One band is in the visible spectrum(e. g. avhrr_ch1) and one band in the near IR [infrared]... NDVI provides an estimation of the health of vegetation and the means of monitoring changes in vegetation over time. Values close to zero mean little or no vegetation and values close to +1(0. 6-0. 9) indicate high density of green leaves. 5, record 1, English, - normalized%20difference%20vegetation%20index

2, record 1, French, - indice%20de%20v%C3%A9g%C3%A9tation%20par%20diff%C3%A9rence%20normalis%C3%A9e

The plant has an important response to temperature. The vegetation zero is located at 6°C : potato is thus very sensitive to frost. Tuber formation is best under low temperatures(< 18°C) and short days(12 h) whereas vegetative growth is best when temperatures are high(> 25°C) and days long(between 14 h and 18 h). 2, record 2, English, - zero%20of%20vegetation

5, record 2, French, - z%C3%A9ro%20de%20v%C3%A9g%C3%A9tation
