Angular rate gyro accuracy is characterized by two parameters : scale factor and drift. The scale factor describes the capability of the gyro to accurately sense angular velocity at different angular rates... Gyro drift characterizes the ability of the gyro to reference all rate measurements to the nominal zero point. It appears as an additive term on the gyro output, so any actual drift away from a given or predetermined value will cause the angular errors to accumulate. 3, record 2, English, - gyro%20drift

The free gyro ... can be converted to a directional reference by remounting its case with the spin axis horizontal and the indicator axis vertical. The indicator will then give the airplane’s heading. Gyro drift is countered by slaving the instrument to the Earth’s magnetic field, via either a separate magnetic compass or a flux valve device. 5, record 2, English, - gyro%20drift

Blood Velocity Meter. A continuous ultrasonic wave in the megahertz region is scattered as it passes through blood. The back-scattered part of the signal can be collected by a receiving transducer next to the transducer emitting the continuous waves, and the returning signal will be shifted in frequency in proportion to the velocity of the blood in the vessel. This Doppler frequency shift can be detected and applied to a frequency meter(e. g. zero crossing detector) or frequency analyzer to produce a signal proportional to blood velocity. 2, record 5, English, - blood%20velocity%20meter

The speed of light in a vacuum is an important physical constant denoted by the letter c for "constant" or the Latin word "celeritas" meaning "swiftness". It is the speed of all electromagnetic radiations, including visible light, in a vacuum. More generally, it is the speed of anything having zero rest mass.... In metric units, the speed of light is exactly 299, 792, 458 metres per second(1, 079, 252, 848. 8 km/h). The fundamental SI unit of length, the metre, has been defined since October 21, 1983, as the distance light travels in a vacuum in 1/299, 792, 458 of a second; any increase in the precision of the measurement of the speed of light would refine the definition of the metre, but not alter the numerical value of c. The approximate value of 3x108 m/s is commonly used in rough estimates. In imperial units, the speed of light is about 670, 616, 629. 2 miles per hour or 983, 571, 056 feet per second, which is about 186, 282, 397 miles per second, or roughly one foot per nanosecond. The speed of light when it passes through a transparent or translucent material medium, like glass or air, is slower than its speed in a vacuum. The ratio of c to the observed phase velocity is called the refractive index of the medium. 5, record 8, English, - speed%20of%20light

MDV determines whether the majority of military traffic, which often moves very slowly, will be visible. To capture the majority of this traffic, a radar must have the ability to detect the lowest possible radial velocity. As a target's radial velocity approaches zero, the target will fall into the clutter or "blind zone. "The clutter spread is a function of a radar's antenna real bandwidth. When a target is in clutter, traditional MTI [moving target indicator] radars can either detect the target or locate it, but not both. 1, record 10, English, - minimum%20detectable%20velocity

A good understanding of the basic axis system used to describe aircraft motion is necessary to fully appreciate flight test data, since all measurements are referenced to this axis system. Aircraft translational motion is described in terms of motion in three different directions, each direction being perpendicular to the other two(orthogonal). Motion in the X direction is forward and aft velocity. The Y direction produces sideways motion to the left and right, and up and down motion is in the Z direction... There are several slightly different versions of the basic axis system just described. They differ primarily in the exact placement of the zero reference lines, but are generally similar in their directions.(For example, the body-axis system uses the fuselage center line as the x axis, while a wind-axis system uses the direction that the aircraft is moving through the air as the x axis.) 4, record 16, English, - body%20axis%20system

Angular velocity is the time rate of change of angular displacement. More simply it is a measure of how fast an object is rotating. For example, the measure of a skater’s spinning speed during a sit spin is called angular velocity. Angular velocity is calculated by subtracting the initial angular position from the final angular position and dividing by the time it took to get from the initial to final position. Angular velocity is measured in radians/second (SI units) or degrees/second or revolutions/second (English units). 4, record 17, English, - angular%20velocity

1, record 28, French, - imp%C3%A9dance%20libre

(...), the MTD [Moving Target Detection] principle involves dividing up the entire radar coverage area into small range-azimuth cells-(...) called ’coherent processing intervals’(CPI). Eight pulses generated at a constant repetition frequency are assigned to each cell, and each return is subjected to Doppler filtering over a range of velocity values. The particular feature of MTD is its ability to measure the density of clutter and to detect the sudden presence of an additional element-such as an aircraft moving into a particular cell-even though it may have zero relative velocity on account of its tangential track. 1, record 30, English, - coherent%20processing%20interval

1, record 30, French, - intervalle%20de%20traitement%20coh%C3%A9rent
