Blast furnace(Imperial Smelting) process. Design of this furnace is taken from the process ordinarily used in smelting of lead. In fact, the ISP furnace smelts zinc and lead concomitantly.... The [furnace charge] is admitted in frequent batches at the top of the shaft and consists of sintered lead, zinc concentrate, and suitable fluxes, to produce a slag which is tapped at shaft bottom. Certain impurities are carried out to waste in the slag; valuable lead bullion and copper-bearing matte are separated from the slag at this stage. Carbon monoxide gas carrying the zinc vapor is drawn through a spray of molten lead, where the zinc is shock-cooled and conveyed by the molten stream to settling basins. Zinc... is withdrawn from the top of the bath and cast. 1, record 36, English, - blast%20furnace%20process

Procédé Imperial Smelting (ou haut fourneau à zinc). [...] Ce procédé de traitement des minerais de zinc a été mis au point par la Société anglaise Impérial Smelting Corporation (procédé I. S.) Self-polishing copolymer (SPC) antifoulings release biocides via a hydrolysis reaction of an acrylic polymer with seawater. This is a chemical reaction and only occurs at the surface of the coating. SPC technology combines controlled polishing rate and optimum biocide release with inherent self-smoothing for hull roughness control and maximum fuel efficiency. 3, record 65, English, - self%2Dpolishing%20copolymer%20antifouling%20paint

"Controlled solubility copolymers" or "self-polishing copolymers(SPC) "are modern coatings in which, initially for TBT [tributyltin] paints, the biocide was chemically part of the paint matrix or resin, for example the copolymer tributylin methacrylate. When immersed, hydrolysis caused the copolymer to cleave, or hydrolyse, splitting the copolymer into a TBT(the biocide) and an acrylate(the resin) component. The TBT then released and acted as a biocide, the acrylate dissolved to ablate the paint. TBT-free SPCs have now been developed which use copper, zinc or silyl acrylate copolymers. 5, record 65, English, - self%2Dpolishing%20copolymer%20antifouling%20paint

Talcum powder is used to reduce irritation of the skin. Talcum powders like face powders contain talc... Chalk, zinc oxide, zinc stearate and a suitable perfume act as the other main constituents of talcum powder. Often specific ingredients like antiseptic and cooling agents are added. The role of the talc is to act as a powder base and to make skin smooth. Chalk absorbs secretion(perspiration) without showing any evidence of such absorption. Zinc oxide masks enlarged pores and minor blemishes, whereas zinc stearate makes powder adhere to skin. Baby talcum powders contain considerable amounts of zinc stearate for adhesiveness and boric acid, for antiseptic purposes. Talcum powders need to be dusted with care to prevent inhalation of the fine particles, which irritate the lungs. 5, record 94, English, - talcum%20powder

2, record 99, Spanish, - fiebre%20por%20humos%20met%C3%A1licos
