The dream of a rain forest saved by children began in 1987 at a small primary school in rural Sweden. The study of tropical forests prompted nine-year-old Roland Tiensuu to ask what he could do to keep the rain forest and the animals who live in it safe from destruction? A campaign raised money to help the Monteverde Conservation League buy and save threatened rain forest in Costa Rica. Roland and his classmates raised enough money to buy 15 acres(6 hectares) of rain forest. Costa Rican and international staff and volunteers work throughout the zone in forest preservation, reforestation, environmental education, and sustainable development. Called Bosque Eterno de los Ninos(Children's Eternal Forest), it is the first international children's rain forest in the world, a rain forest being saved by and for children, for the planet itself, for now and for tomorrow. 1, record 9, English, - Children%27s%20Rain%20Forest

In a replicated yield trial, established in 1987 at 4 locations in southern Manitoba, Double Delight ripened approx equal to 10 days later than Red River with the first harvest occurring on 25 August. Fruit yield averaged 1. 22 kg/m2 at all sites while low cane densities(6 m2) generally gave higher yields. Numbers of fruit/cane were similar to Red River(50). Field trials suggest that Double Delight is hardy to USDA zone 3 and ripening fruit can withstand-5 deg C. 2 ref.(From an abstract found in Dialog). 2, record 13, English, - replicated%20yield%20trial

3, record 13, French, - essai%20de%20rendement%20r%C3%A9p%C3%A9t%C3%A9

Line drilling : In this method regular rockdrill holes, about 11/2 inches in diameter, are spaced 4 to 6 inches apart along the perimeter and left uncharged. Larger diameter holes could be placed at greater spacing intervals. The buffer zone between the perimeter holes and the last row of main round holes should be about 8 to 12 inches wide(the buffer distance). The drilled unloaded holes along the periphery alone provide a plane of weakness to which the rock will break readily and cleanly when the round is fired. 2, record 14, English, - line%20drilling
