Diabetic macular ischemia(DMI) is a common problem for patients with diabetic retinopathy that can lead to sight loss.... DMI is linked to damage in the vessels that supply blood to the retina—specifically in layers known as the superficial vascular complex, deep vascular complex and choriocapillaris... These layers supply oxygen to the macula, which is the central part of the retina responsible for sharp, high-quality vision... Reduced retinal blood flow and vessel density have been associated with photoreceptor disruption and subsequent vision loss... In addition, DMI is characterised by the enlargement of the foveal avascular zone(FAZ), which in turn is linked to vision loss... 1, record 1, English, - diabetic%20macular%20ischemia

... Calcium and Magnesium react with other chemicals in the water. The warm water acts as a catalyst and increases the number of reactions depending on the concentration of calcium and magnesium. The reaction which takes place is the dissociation of calcium hydrocarbonate, formula: Ca(HC03) and magnesium hydrocarbonate, formula: Mg(HC0[susbcript 3])2. Both of these are soluble solids, which means they can dissolve when put in water. When these two soluble salts dissociate, they form carbon dioxide (a gas), which is released from the water, and calcium and magnesium carbonate. These two compounds are not soluble and are therefore taken out of solution. And it is these substances that cause the filmy, fuzzy crud on the glass of your aquarium when the water evaporates. 3, record 15, English, - magnesium%20bis%28hydrogencarbonate%29

The bioplugs are strategically inserted into the contaminated zone(s). Liquids then flow through the plugs by a pressure gradient created using compressed air. A PAPR, powered air purifying respirator, is a positive air system that uses a battery to power a blower, which then pumps air through a filter into a mask or a hood. The blower, battery and filters are usually belt-worn, and connected to the hood or mask by a breathing tube. The clean, filtered, cool air flows into the breathing zone. The airflow is much higher than the wearer needs to breathe, and the excess flow creates a positive pressure as it passes through the mask. This pressure pushes out, and keeps contamination from leaking in. This is different from a normal gas mask, which uses the wearer's lung power to pull air through a filter. Dr. Karl Clark, a scientist working for the Alberta Research Council, developed and patented the hot water extraction technique... Oil sand is mixed with hot water creating a slurry. Early methods used large tumbler drums to condition the slurry. Today, hydrotransport pipelines are used to condition and transport the oil sand from the mine to the extraction plant. The slurry is fed into a separation vessel where it separates into three layers-sand, water and bitumen. The bitumen is then skimmed off the top to be cleaned and processed further. Secondary recoveries are made with the middlings zone of the separation vessels to return the smaller quantities of bitumen that would otherwise flow to the settling ponds. Ph levels and temperature are key variables in the process. 2, record 23, English, - hot%20water%20extraction%20process

Dynamic adsorption. The most common mode of adsorptive separation process employs a fixed bed, cyclic operation. As the wet process stream enters the fresh molecular-sieve bed, the water vapor is adsorbed in a finite length of bed called a mass-transfer zone(MTZ), the bed length through which the concentration of the adsorbate is reduced from essentially inlet to outlet conditions. As wet gas continues to flow, the bed may be divided into three distinct zones; the dynamic equilibrium zone with inlet gas, the MTZ, and the remaining active zone. In most molecular-adsorption systems, the MTZ becomes stabilized because of its favorable isotherm and moves at a constant speed. The bed is exhausted when the leading edge of the MTZ reaches the outlet end of the bed. High effective capacity results from high dynamic equilibrium capacity and a short MTZ. 1, record 36, English, - dynamic%20adsorption

For area heating, horizontal-blow unit heaters in exterior zones should be located so as to blow either along the exposure or toward it at a slight angle. Where possible, multiple units should be arranged so that the discharge airstreams support each other and create a general circulatory motion in the space... Horizontal unit heaters should have discharge outlets located well above head level, and both horizontal and vertical units should be so applied that the heated airstream will be delivered to the occupied zone at temperatures and velocities which are not objectionable. where possible, units should be located so that the discharge air flow is into open spaces, such as aisles, and not directly on the occupants. 1, record 40, English, - horizontal%2Dblow%20unit%20heater

1, record 40, French, - a%C3%A9rotherme%20%C3%A0%20soufflage%20horizontal
