The zoning officer is the first municipal official with whom a property owner meets to discuss plans regarding improvements or changes to his property. Upon review of a zoning permit application, the zoning officer issues zoning permits. In addition, the zoning officer is responsible for enforcement of the provisions of the municipal zoning ordinance, as well as determining whether or not a specific use is permitted in a particular zone.
