The substrate concentration at which all enzyme-active sites are occupied and, consequently, at which the reaction velocity is maximal. 2, record 3, English, - saturation
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The general principles of chemical-reaction kinetics apply to enzyme-catalyzed reactions, but they also show a distinctive feature not usually observed in nonenzymatic reactions, saturation with substrate.... At a low substrate concentration, the initial reaction velocity vo is nearly proportional to the substrate concentration, and the reaction is thus approximately first order with respect to the substrate. However, as the substrate concentration is increased, the initial rate increases less, so that is is no longer nearly proportional to the substrate concentration; in this zone, the reaction is mixed order. With a further increase in the substrate concentration, the reaction rate becomes essentially independent of substrate concentration and asymptotically approaches a constant rate. 3, record 3, English, - saturation

Record number: 7, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Used primarily in New England, the Aquatic Base Flow method uses historic flow data to determine the median flow for the lowest flow month (typically August or September), and applies that level to the remainder of the year ... This approach assumes that a specific flow rate per unit of watershed area will provide an adequate minimum flow. It is simple to use, if historic data is available, but cannot account easily for site-specific biological concerns; nor can the method adequately and defensibly adjust for spawning or incubation. 3, record 7, English, - aquatic%20base%20flow%20method

... Calcium and Magnesium react with other chemicals in the water. The warm water acts as a catalyst and increases the number of reactions depending on the concentration of calcium and magnesium. The reaction which takes place is the dissociation of calcium hydrocarbonate, formula: Ca(HC03) and magnesium hydrocarbonate, formula: Mg(HC0[susbcript 3])2. Both of these are soluble solids, which means they can dissolve when put in water. When these two soluble salts dissociate, they form carbon dioxide (a gas), which is released from the water, and calcium and magnesium carbonate. These two compounds are not soluble and are therefore taken out of solution. And it is these substances that cause the filmy, fuzzy crud on the glass of your aquarium when the water evaporates. 3, record 9, English, - magnesium%20bis%28hydrogencarbonate%29
