Over recent years soft wheat has become increasingly common as a forage plant both for producing silage and for producing hay, thanks to the excellent quality features of the green plant. To use wheat successfully as forage, the variety must be chosen carefully, especially so as to maximise yields. Remotely acquired data using the Landsat satellite system provide a means for initiating crop growth simulation models and crop phenology models at a field level over a large geographic area. A model based on Landsat spectral data has been developed that estimates a spectral emergence of the crop at a pixel(field) level. This spectral emergence date is evaluated using dates of planting and emergence reported by farmers for their fields or spring wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) and barley(Hordeum vulare L.) located in North and South Dakota. The model can provide a means of understanding the distribution of crop emergence across all pixels of a region. A class of algorithms have been developed that operate via an iterative offspring production process. These iterative offspring production processes are commonly termed evolutionary algorithms, and include genetic algorithms, mutation algorithms, and the like. In a typical evolutionary algorithm, certain attributes, or genes, are assumed to be related to an ability to perform a given task, different combinations of genes resulting in different levels of effectiveness for performing that task. The evolutionary algorithm is particularly effective for problems wherein the relation between the combination of attributes and the effectiveness for performing the task does not have a closed-form solution. 1, record 18, English, - evolutionary%20algorithm

[What does one] mean by holding? In psychology, the term has a specific meaning. It describes the way another person, often an authority figure, contains and interprets what's happening in times of uncertainty. Containing refers to the ability to soothe distress and interpreting to the ability to help others make sense of a confusing predicament. Think of a CEO [chief executive officer] who, in a severe downturn, reassures employees that the company has the resources to weather the storm and most jobs will be protected, helps them interpret revenue data, and gives clear directions about what must be done to service existing clients and develop new business. 1, record 22, English, - holding

The application of free-flying space robots(FFSR) has achieved significant progress because of their ability to perform on-orbit servicing missions autonomously or telerobotically instead of human performing hazardous, monotonous and costly extra vehicular activities(EVA). Some applications of FFSR include inspection, repairing, assembling, refueling and docking with other spacecraft. As these tasks are dangerous for astronauts to perform in the space environment, space robots are expected to be utilized and therefore, a high level of accuracy is required for a successful mission. 2, record 38, English, - free%2Dflying%20space%20robot

The non-microprocessor mechanical prosthetic knee joint can be split into two parts through the WSC [wrap-spring-clutch] central body. 1, record 41, Spanish, - h%C3%A1bitat%20espacial

... pneumatic robotic technology may be employed to create mechanical devices that move in a more fluid and life-like manner that enhance the user experience in various interactive and visual experiences. Moreover, pneumatic robotic technology provides the ability for humans(e. g., guests) to interact with animate characters or attraction features(e. g., machines, robots) in a comfortable and interactive fashion since they achieve their shapes and movements by directing fluid(e. g., gas and/or liquid) through a collapsible or inflatable material(e. g., housing). Thus, such robots may be referred to as "soft robots. "As used herein, pneumatic robotic technology(e. g., pneumatic robots) may include balloon-like or inflatable attraction features that receive fluid to form a discernable shape. Flexibility refers to the range of motion around a joint.... The ability to successfully perform many movements and skills depends on the range of motion... For instance, to hit a high ball during a soccer game, players have to lift their leg to chest level, so they must be flexible enough to go beyond that level.... Flexibility is not improved in one or two stretching sessions but rather with an ongoing emphasis on statically and dynamically engaging the various muscles and joints with a variety of stretching exercises. 2, record 49, English, - flexibility

Age-related macular degeneration is the most common cause of severe loss of eyesight among people 50 and older. Only the center of vision is affected with this disease. It is important to realize that people rarely go blind from it. AMD affects the central vision, and with it, the ability to see fine details. In AMD, a part of the retina called the macula is damaged. In advanced stages, people lose their ability to drive, to see faces, and to read smaller print. In its early stages, AMD may have no signs or symptoms, so people may not suspect they have it. 6, record 50, English, - age%2Drelated%20macular%20degeneration

The offload can be one of the most exciting and rewarding skills in the game of rugby union. The ability to deliver an accurate pass while in contact with the enemy is an art form in itself, and leads to high proportion of line break successes for the attacking side who can it execute well. The idea is that attacking play remains fluid and continuous just as the defence is preparing to stop and reset for another phase. The defenders think that the ball is momentarily "dead" after a tackle has been made and that there will be an opportunity to regroup. The offload shows unexpectedly that this will not be the case, and in that small moment there is a chink of light for the attack. 2, record 65, English, - offload

The question presented in many parricide cases is the admissibility of expert testimony on battered child syndrome to aid in proving the defendant's claim of self-defense. Although battered child syndrome was originally developed as a physical diagnosis for victims of continuing child abuse, it currently includes an explanation of the psychological aspects as well. [...] One striking similarity between abused children and abused women is the failure of the child or woman to strike back at the abuser. In the case of the battered woman, this failure to strike out is attributed to learned helplessness resulting from her continued abuse. Such reasoning may readily be applied to the circumstances of the battered child as well. For a child, the feelings of lack of power or control over the situation are even greater than for a grown adult in such a situation. A child has minimal ability to leave home and permanently escape the abuse. This inability to escape results in increased fear and isolation. Often the child has been battered since a very young age and remembers no other type of existence. 3, record 68, English, - battered%20child%20syndrome
