A class of algorithms have been developed that operate via an iterative offspring production process. These iterative offspring production processes are commonly termed evolutionary algorithms, and include genetic algorithms, mutation algorithms, and the like. In a typical evolutionary algorithm, certain attributes, or genes, are assumed to be related to an ability to perform a given task, different combinations of genes resulting in different levels of effectiveness for performing that task. The evolutionary algorithm is particularly effective for problems wherein the relation between the combination of attributes and the effectiveness for performing the task does not have a closed-form solution. 1, record 1, English, - evolutionary%20algorithm

The application of free-flying space robots(FFSR) has achieved significant progress because of their ability to perform on-orbit servicing missions autonomously or telerobotically instead of human performing hazardous, monotonous and costly extra vehicular activities(EVA). Some applications of FFSR include inspection, repairing, assembling, refueling and docking with other spacecraft. The expectancy–value theory addresses whether or not children desire to participate in an activity and how much effort they are prepared to put into the activity. Thus, the theory consists of 2 major components, expectancy beliefs and subjective task values. Precisely, the level of persistence and performance in the activity is determined by their beliefs about how well they will perform the activity and values they attach to the activity. Beliefs about ability are defined as an individual' s beliefs about competence in performing or learning different achievement tasks and probability for success at a specific task. 1, record 18, English, - expectancy%20belief

A test technician helps perform key diagnostic and quality tests on their company's products. On an average day, test technicians may respond to error messages, gather data for reports, and perform other routine quality-control tasks, depending on their workplace's needs. Since they often work in a manufacturing setting, some physical labor may be required for installing testing hardware, measuring data, and light product-fabrication work. However, the core of their job is running diagnostic tests and performing routine troubleshooting of system issues. This may require the ability to interpret complex documents such as technical schematics and follow precise instructions well. Test technicians often work in the production of electronic equipment, as well as automotive, defense, and aerospace products. A wide variety of manufacturing jobs may employ a small number of test technicians as well. 2, record 24, English, - test%20technician

Using a device called a Josephson junction, a SQUID can detect a change of energy as much as 100 billion times weaker than the electromagnetic energy that moves a compass needle. A Josephson junction is made up of two superconductors, separated by an insulating layer so thin that electrons can pass through. A SQUID consists of tiny loops of superconductors employing Josephson junctions to achieve superposition : each electron moves simultaneously in both directions. Because the current is moving in two opposite directions, the electrons have the ability to perform as qubits(that theoretically could be used to enable quantum computing). SQUIDs have been used for a variety of testing purposes that demand extreme sensitivity, including engineering, medical, and geological equipment. Because they measure changes in a magnetic field with such sensitivity, they do not have to come in contact with a system that they are testing. 3, record 28, English, - superconducting%20quantum%20interference%20device

4, record 28, French, - dispositif%20supraconducteur%20%C3%A0%20interf%C3%A9rence%20quantique

In the case of combat aircraft, designed-in lack of stability can offer faster turn rates, tighter turn radii and reductions in fuel consumption during manoeuvring flight, plus the ability to fly in unconventional attitudes(such as extreme angles of attack) or perform unconventional manoeuvres. The reduction in the energy required to perform manoeuvres comes largely from the decrease in trim drag involved in initiating the manoeuvre : the movement of flight control surfaces required to alter the aircraft's attitude is much less than is needed with a positively stable aircraft, and the actual control surfaces themselves can be made smaller. 1, record 29, English, - trim%20drag

1, record 50, French, - %26oelig%3Bd%C3%A8me%20de%20la%20face

The MSS [Mobile Servicing System] consists of three main elements : the Space Station Remote Manipulator System(SSRMS), known as Canadarm2, the Mobile Base System(MBS), and the Special Purpose Dexterous Manipulator(SPDM). Canadarm2 and the MBS, its platform, are essential tools for the assembly of the ISS.... The Space Station Remote Manipulator System(SSRMS), known as Canadarm2, is the first component of the Mobile Servicing System. Although similar to the Shuttle Canadarm, this 17-metre manipulator is somewhat larger and incorporates many advanced features, including the ability to self relocate. The arm has the capacity to handle large ISS modules and structural elements. It will initially be used to assemble the Station. In the future, it will capture and dock unmanned resupply spacecraft to the ISS and perform routine maintenance tasks. Canadarm2 will normally move along the Space Station on the Mobile Base System, but it also has the ability to "walk" from place to place by moving from one grapple fixture on the exterior of the structure to the next, like an inchworm.... It is equipped with four television cameras, two mounted on the booms and one near each tip. These cameras feed images to the astronauts operating the arm from the Robotic Workstation inside the Station. An advanced version of the Canadian Space Vision System improves the ability of Canadarm2 operators to keep track of the position, orientation and movement of payloads being grappled. 1, record 80, English, - Canadarm2

12, record 80, French, - Canadarm2
