The objective of the Arctic Contaminants Action Program(ACAP) is to prevent adverse effects from, reduce, and ultimately eliminate pollution of the Arctic environment. ACAP addresses Arctic pollution sources and acts as a strengthening and supporting mechanism to encourage national actions to reduce emissions and other releases of pollutants that are relevant in the Arctic.

With the opening of Terminal 1 came the introduction of the Airport Customer Assistance Program(ACAP), which makes travel easier for passengers in need of mobility assistance. ACAP facilitates point-to-point transportation with the use of wheelchairs and electric-vehicle surrey service. In 2006, more than 246, 000 passengers were assisted with wheelchairs provided by ACAP, while more than 606, 000 passengers made use of the surrey service.

The Atlantic Coastal Action Program(ACAP) is a dynamic network of community and non-government organizations. ACAP assists 13 project sites or communities in developing comprehensive environmental management plans to restore and maintain environmentally degraded harbours and estuaries. Planning assistance is provided in a wide range of areas from identifying environmental quality objectives to sustaining social and economic needs, to identifying and evaluating remedial options.

Le Programme d'action des zones côtières de l'Atlantique (PAZCA) est l'un des quatre programmes de gestion des écosystèmes en vigueur à Environnement Canada. Dans le cadre de ce programme d'une valeur de dix millions de dollars et d'une durée de six ans, annoncé en 1991, on accorde un appui financier pour l'élaboration de plans exhaustifs de gestion de l'environnement en vue de rétablir et de préserver les milieux côtiers à treize emplacements. Une aide à la planification est accordée pour une vaste gamme d'activités, visant notamment à établir des objectifs en matière de qualité de l'environnement, à satisfaire des besoins socio-économiques et à élaborer et évaluer des mesures correctives.
