Subject field(s)
  • Thread Spinning (Textiles)
DEF

Acetate yarns are manufactured from an acetylated natural polymer -- cellulose.

CONT

Acetate yarns occupy an intermediate position between natural and synthetic fibres. Acetate yarn production consists of the following stages : 1. Spinning solution(dope) preparation. 2. Acetate yarn spinning(formation). 3. Solvent(acetone) recovery. 4. Textile processing--twisting, texturizing, warping etc. Acetate yarns intended for light industry and woven and knitted articles and fabrics....

CONT

CONT

ACOS Process. The acid catalyzed organo-solv process utilized acetone in a high temperature and pressure reactor dissolved the lignin, allowing the dilute acid within the solution to hydrolyze the cellulose into fermentable sugars. The water and acetone were recycled lowering waste production and input costs. Recovery of the fermentable sugars was 95% of theoretical, and the lignin was easily recovered for purification and further processing. [Source : ethanol project-Sncwork. en p. 1].

  • Énergies renouvelables
CONT
