This machine pushes air into the nose, mouth, or both through a face mask or nasal cannula(a device with tubes that delivers supplemental oxygen or an increase flow of air) to promote consistent breathing. Muscarine, a natural product from the mushroom "Amanita muscaria, "stimulates Ach [acetylcholine](cholinergic) receptors at the parasympathetic terminal sites : exocrine glands(lacrimal, salivary, and bronchial mucous glands), cardiac muscle, and smooth muscle(gastrointestinal tract). Ach receptors at these sites and the effects of parasympathetic stimulation at these sites are termed "muscarinic. A device for maintaining a patent airway without tracheal intubation, consisting of a tube connected to an oval inflatable cuff that seals the larynx. 3, record 16, English, - laryngeal%20mask%20airway
Record number: 16, Textual support number: 1 OBS
[The] laryngeal mask airway(LMA) is a cuff device that provides sufficient seal to allow for positive pressure ventilation to be delivered. It is particularly useful in maintaining an airway in anesthetized patients when endotracheal intubation is not desired or during emergency situations in which mask ventilation is not possible or intubation and/or ventilation fails. An LMA is a wide bore tube, with a connector at its proximal end(that can be connected to a breathing circuit) and with an elliptical cuff at its distal end. When inflated, the elliptical cuff forms a low pressure seal around the entrance into the larynx. 2, record 16, English, - laryngeal%20mask%20airway

3, record 16, French, - masque%20laryng%C3%A9
Record number: 16, Textual support number: 1 OBS

We conclude that capillary perfusion begins when intracapillary pressure just exceeds alveolar pressure, but that further increases in capillary pressure recruit capillaries depending on tension in the alveolar wall, whether imposed by positive airway pressure or by gravity when the lung is suspended in an intact thorax. 1, record 17, English, - intracapillary%20pressure

Mine roadways offer resistance to air flow due mainly by surface drag between air and roadway sides(...) Energy losses are directly proportional to the cube of the air quantity flowing. A simpler pressure difference relationship is used which is derived from basic fluid flow principles and which can be related to Atkinson's equation. In this case P=RQ [squared] where P is the frictional pressure difference across a length of roadway in pascals : R is the roadway resistance in Gauls(...) ;and Q the air-flow rate in [cub metre]/s. Roadway resistances are expressed in Gauls per 100 m of airway(...) 1, record 20, English, - Gaul

1, record 20, French, - Gaul
