An extra seal that comprises a sheet that is resistant to water vapor or vapor from some specific chemical, and adhered to the top end of a container below the regular cover or closure, to give added protection to the contents such as: soluble coffee, spirits of nitre, creams and ointments, etc.

At the point of use, the membrane is torn or peeled off, and subsequent reclosure is accomplished by the screw cap or snap-on lid that initially protected the membrane against mechanical damage. Such a membrane provides visual evidence of tampering.

Inside Bake Ovens(IBO) are used in the beverage container industry. Aluminum cans are coated inside for sanitation purposes and to prevent aluminum taste in the beverage. Typically the cans are spray coated and transferred to a flat belt conveyor. This conveyor transfers the cans to the belt going through the oven.... A very precisely engineered air delivery system is used to apply heated process air to the can pack as it goes through the oven. The air must be sufficient enough to plunge into the can and reach the depth of the coating and yet be gentle enough to not tip the very light aluminum can. Oven balance is very critical for... drying and curing all of the cans equally.

A cap-sealing method based on the high-frequency heating of the cap and its inner seal, when placed on their container, in order to enhance tamper evidence and freshness protection.

OBS

A typical induction innerseal consists of a pulp board liner, a layer of wax, aluminum foil, and a polymer that is compatible with the lid of the plastic container. As the container and cap pass under the induction coil, a varying magnetic field heats the aluminum foil, which melts the wax and polymer, sealing it to the lip of the container. Thus, the innerseal leaves an hermetic layer of foil and polymer coating on the top of the bottle. If the foil seal is broken, any tampering is immediately apparent to the consumer.

Removable closures attach to containers by two principal methods : thread engagement and friction engagement... Three closure types provide a seal through thread engagement : continuous thread(CT), lug, and roll-on caps. CT designs attain a seal through the attachment of a continuously threaded closure to a compatibly threaded container neck... Today the CT design is manufactured in plastic, tin-free steel, tin plate, and aluminum... All CT closures are designated by diameter as measured in mm followed by the finish series number. A closure with the designation number "22-400" refers to a closure with an inside diameter of 22 mm designed in the 400 finish of a shallow continuous thread.

Although the terms "closure" and "cap" may be seen as different when standing alone, we think they should be recognized as synonyms when properly qualified.
