Earthworm robots fall in the broader class of bio-mimicking robots. The thrust for developing earthworm-like robots lies in the ability of an earthworm to venture through highly space constrict regions taking lesser amount of space for navigation. The robots inspired by earthworm's locomotion characteristics are very useful in applications such as search and rescue operations under debris, surveillance and spying, inspection and maintenance in pipelines and medical uses like endoscopy... 1, record 1, English, - earthworm%20robot

According to some authors, "short ternes" and "long ternes" differentiate themselves by the difference in the thickness of their tin coating. "Short" refers to the weight of coating per basis box, and always to the thinner coatings, usually 40. 5 m²(436 sq. ft.) of plate or sheet; usually 3. 6 kg of coating metal is the limit for short terne tin plates, and for heavier plates the weight of coating may vary from two to five times this amount. According to other authors, "short ternes" and "long ternes" differentiate themselves by the difference in their linear dimensions. Short ternes commonly measure 0. 5 X 0. 7 m, whereas long ternes have dimensions which usually fall within the limits of 0. 6 X 1. 5 m to 1. 2 X 3. 7 m.

In the atmosphere, ... objects such as raindrops, which attain terminal velocity at great heights above the surface, may be regarded as continuously adjusting their speeds to remain at all times essentially in the terminal fall condition. The terminal fall velocity of water droplets in still air can be computed from Stokes’s law for drops smaller than 80 m in diameter. Above that size, empirical values must be used. 5, record 13, English, - falling%20speed

In other words, as cloud droplets fall, air resists their downward motion and the amount of this air resistance is based on the size of the drop and its rate of fall, or velocity. The speed of the falling cloud droplet increases until the air resistance equals the downward pull of gravity and then begins to fall at a constant speed, no longer accelerating downward. This constant speed that is finally reached is called the drop's terminal velocity, or fall speed. 2, record 13, English, - falling%20speed

The Falling Number test is used to evaluate the amount of sprout damage in Canadian wheats. Alpha amylase is an enzyme found in wheat, if germination occurs there is a dramatic increase of this enzyme. The Falling Number is the time in seconds for a stirrer to fall through a hot slurry of ground wheat. The greater the amount of alpha-amylase in the wheat, the thinner the gelationized starch paste and the faster the plunger will fall through the slurry. A high Falling Number or the longer it takes the stirrer to fall indicates the wheat is sound and satisfactory for most baking processes. A 1CWRS normally has a Falling Number, greater than 350 seconds. 3, record 14, English, - Falling%20Number

The seepage pit is usually made of concrete block or is a precast concrete unit. Typically, 8-in. thick block are used, and they are laid with the cells(holes) placed horizontally to allow the effluent to seep into the ground. The tapered cells of the block are set with the widest area to the outside to reduce the amount of loose material behind the lining that might fall into the pit. The typical precast concrete seepage pit shown in Fig. 5-14 is the same unit used for drywells. The bottom of the pit is lined with coarse gravel a minimum of 1 ft deep before the block or concrete is placed. Between the block or concrete and the soil is a minimum of 6 in. of clean crushed stone or gravel. Straw is placed on top of the gravel to keep sand from filtering down and reducing the effectiveness of the gravel. The top of the pit should have an opening with a watertight cover to provide access to the pit if necessary. The construction of the pit above the inlet pipe should be watertight. 3, record 17, English, - seepage%20pit
