Within the industry, there has been arisen a misconception that high-capacity ginning results in lower-quality fiber. However, when the ginnery and all its sub-systems have been properly designed, operated, and maintained, this has been shown not to be the case. Increased ginning capacity without compromised quality will continue to be one of the major goals of the industry, since it will result in lower per-bale ginning costs and more cotton being processed in a given amount of time. 2, record 16, English, - ginning%20capacity

The oxygen sensor(also known as an O2 sensor, lambda sensor, or EGO sensor) is one of the most critical sensors on a fuel-injected engine. It resembles a spark plug and is located in the exhaust manifold between the turbo and catalytic converter. When at operating temperature it becomes a miniature battery which generates a voltage based on the differential between the oxygen content of the exhaust gas and the oxygen content of the ambient air. By this method it measures the amount of oxygen in the exhaust stream, allowing the ECM to compensate to some degree for various fuel grades, engine wear, altitude changes, usage of oxygenated fuel, and more. Another big benefit is the ability to keep emissions of carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen, and unburned hydrocarbons as low as possible. 3, record 36, English, - oxygen%20sensor

3, record 36, French, - sonde%20d%27oxyg%C3%A8ne%20des%20gaz%20d%27%C3%A9chappement

A common example of a "bifurcated trial" is one in which the question of liability in a personal injury case is tried separately from and prior to a trial on the amount of damages to be awarded if liability is found. Yet the commercial viability of farming in these areas has been increasingly dependent upon various headage payments which have led to environmental degradation through over-grazing. Under Agenda 2000, one headage payment(the Hill and Livestock Compensatory Amount or HLCA) is to be switched to an area basis. This represents a partial attempt to decouple support from production incentives and may reduce environmental damage. An invitation to treat is a mere declaration of willingness to enter into negotiations; it is not an offer, and cannot be accepted so as to form a binding contract. In practice, the formation of a contract is frequently preceded by preliminary negotiations. Some of the exchanges in these negotiations contain no declaration at all, as where one party simply asks for information. Others may amount to invitations to the recipient to make an offer, these being invitations to treat.(9 Hals., 4th ed., p. 98) 2, record 57, English, - invitation%20to%20treat

With monovision, patients choose to slightly under-correct one eye. This would leave a targeted amount of residual myopia or nearsightedness which in turn would allow you to read comfortably without the need for magnification(reading glasses). Do not confuse with "exposure intensity". The term "intensity" refers to the degree or amount of some quality, condition; it expresses the force, strength, energy, degree of some characteristic quality. The term "level" designates a position on a scale in respect of amount, intensity, extent, or the like; it expresses the relative amount or intensity of any property, attribute, or activity. Since the level studied corresponds most of the time to an observed concentration of a substance, the two expressions "exposure level" and "exposure concentration" can often be used interchangeably even if they are not true synonyms. One must choose according to the context. See also "exposure score. " 7, record 70, English, - exposure%20level

5, record 70, French, - niveau%20d%27exposition

Many crude vegetable oils contain large amounts of phosphatides or "break" material. In such a test, the oil is carefully heated in a test tube; if any break is present, the oil clouds at about 260°C and within 5° to 25°C the break will have separated.

[The] most significant development in family value is the flight operational commonality, shared by Airbus A320 and A330/A340 families, covering aircraft from 100 to 440 seats in capacity. The ten aircraft in these families have the same flight deck and the same operational qualities—electronic instrument displays, controls, routine and emergency procedures, task sharing—plus very similar flight handling characteristics... The benefits to airlines and pilots are exceptional : easier transitioning from one aircraft type to another through cross crew qualification; multi-type qualifications, enabling mixed fleet flying; greater mobility and productivity for pilots; savings in operating costs that can amount to millions of dollars every year. 1, record 72, English, - operational%20commonality

Breast-conserving surgery removes the cancer and surrounding tissue. The goal is to take just enough tissue so that the breast looks as normal as possible after the surgery but the chance of the cancer coming back is low. The size and location of tumors differs from one person to another, so the amount of tissue removed during surgery also varies. To make it simple, you can think of two general breast-conserving surgeries : a lumpectomy and a partial mastectomy. 2, record 75, English, - breast%2Dconserving%20surgery

According to some authors, "short ternes" and "long ternes" differentiate themselves by the difference in the thickness of their tin coating. "Short" refers to the weight of coating per basis box, and always to the thinner coatings, usually 40. 5 m²(436 sq. ft.) of plate or sheet; usually 3. 6 kg of coating metal is the limit for short terne tin plates, and for heavier plates the weight of coating may vary from two to five times this amount. According to other authors, "short ternes" and "long ternes" differentiate themselves by the difference in their linear dimensions. Short ternes commonly measure 0. 5 X 0. 7 m, whereas long ternes have dimensions which usually fall within the limits of 0. 6 X 1. 5 m to 1. 2 X 3. 7 m. The Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer MERIS forms part of the core instrument payload of ESA’s environmental research satellite ENVISAT-1. MERIS is funded by ESA. The demands of the European scientific community for a global environmental monitoring system, whose technical characteristics enable the extraction of quantitative information from ocean colour data, as well as for documentation of the state and evolution of the atmosphere and land surfaces, led to the conception of MERIS. The oceanographic mission is radiometrically the most demanding in terms of low radiance levels and their associated high signal-to-noise ratios. The instrument will be capable of detecting the low levels of radiation emerging from the ocean (linked to the water constituents by the processes of absorption and scattering), in addition to acquiring information about the atmospheric medium through which the observation is made as well as terrestrial environments. The characteristics of MERIS will also be of great value for the retrieval of information on land surfaces, in particular that of global biomass. 5, record 94, English, - medium%20resolution%20imaging%20spectrometer%20MERIS

Anti-competitive behaviour is designed primarily to harm consumers by making them pay more than they should for goods and services. The clearest examples are price-fixing and collusive tendering(bid-rigging). Price-fixing occurs when two or more sellers agree that they will increase their prices by a certain amount, or that they will not sell below a certain price. Collusive tendering occurs when two or more firms agree not to bid against one another to supply goods or services, or when they agree on their individual bids.

2, record 98, French, - comportement%20proconcurrentiel

It is the concentration of radioactive material, rather than its absolute amount, which... determines its potential to create negative impacts onto health and the environment. For example,... small amounts of radioactive waste may be dangerously toxic when only slightly diluted in one litre of water, but may be harmless when diluted in tens of thousands of litres. 5, record 99, English, - concentration

5, record 99, French, - concentration
Record number: 99, Textual support number: 2 OBS
5, record 99, French, - concentration
