A gender-based analysis(GBA) is a tool to both understand the local context and to support gender equality. A GBA examines the relationships between men and women, girls and boys, their access to resources, their activities, and the constraints they face relative to each other in a particular context. It identifies the varied roles played by women and men, girls and boys in the household, community, workplace, political processes and economy. These different roles often result in women having less access to and control over resources, and less participation and influence in decision-making processes. A GBA also considers how other intersecting identity factors such as race, ethnicity, LGBTQ2I [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, two-spirit, intersex], legal status, ability, language, religion, socio-economic status, and education, affect individual and group experiences, including among women and among men. Gender equality is not exclusively about women's or girls’ issues and is not only about working with or for women and girls. Men's and boys’ engagement is critical. 5, record 5, English, - gender%2Dbased%20analysis

7, record 5, French, - analyse%20comparative%20entre%20les%20sexes

When growth & decline are examined with regard to the administrative component of organizations, an apparent dichotomy exists between cross-sectional designs & within organization longitudinal studies. The results of longitudinal studies indicate the existence of a ratcheting effect of the administrative component that cannot be explained by the size construct alone. Therefore, an analysis of the ratchet effect is presented & a conceptual model of factors influencing the growth & decline of the administrative component is proposed. 3, record 11, English, - ratchet%20effect

Columns can be operated in an expanded bed form at higher flow rates, so preventing fouling and compression and improving mass transfer. Alternatively packed biocatalyst particles can be used in a trickle-flow mode as in some waste-water processes employing microbial flocs.... Packed columns allow a high concentration of biocatalyst to be used. The product molecules or other inhibitors produced during the reaction are constantly swept out of the reactor so that the concentration of products are minimized - so less product inhibition occurs.... The exposure matrix was developed to account for job, plant, and era dependent differences in TCDD [2, 3, 7, 8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin] exposure. The TCDD exposure estimates are based on(1) the concentration of TCDD in micrograms per gram present in process materials;(2) the duration of exposure to TCDD contamination, expressed as a fraction of a work day; and(3) a qualitative contact factor(0. 05-1. 5) to account for the extent of worker contact with the TCDD contaminated material. These three factors are multiplied together to yield a daily TCDD exposure score. The sum of the daily exposure scores constituted an individual' s cumulative exposure score. Daily TCDD exposure scores range from 0. 001 to 1250. Cumulative TCDD exposure scores are distributed from 0. 002 to 1, 651, 611 exposure score days. The TCDD cumulative exposure score, which incorporates both duration and level of exposure, provides a means for ranking workers for evaluating the relationship between TCDD exposure and mortality in a retrospective cohort study analysis. 2, record 52, English, - exposure%20score

Signal-to-noise ratio: A quantitative measure of the statistical detectability of a signal, expressed as a ratio of the magnitude of the signal relative to the variability. For first detection of a CO2-induced climate change, the model signal is the mean change or anomaly in some climatic variable, usually surface air temperature, attributed by a numerical model to increased concentrations of carbon dioxide. Observed noise is the standard deviation or natural variability computed from observations of that variable and adjusted for sample size, autocorrelation, and time averaging. 2, record 57, English, - noise%20level
