ANCHOR STOCK [7 records]

CONT

In the world of investing, anchoring bias manifests when investors rely heavily on initial information, such as past performance or a specific price, when making decision. For example, if an investor sees a stock at a historically low price, they may anchor their expectations of its future performance solely based on that low price, without considering other relevant factors.

CONT

CONT

The data obtained by [a] tag-recapture method are commonly used to evaluate the fish population dynamics and the effect of stock enhancement. However, to ensure the accuracy of the recapture data, it is necessary to choose the appropriate fish size for tagging.... In the first experiment, the effects of T-bar anchor tags on growth, survival and tag retention of... four size groups [of fish] were examined and the size-dependent effects on survival and tag retention were tested. In the second experiment, different mix ratios of tagged fish and untagged fish from two size groups... were set for simulated catching and the catching results were resampled.

DEF

This is frequently used as a charge, or crest, emblematical of hope, or of naval service. In old examples it is not unfrequently ringed at the point as well as at the head. The parts are thus named : the shank or beam(fr. stangue) : the stock, timber, or cross-piece(fr. trabe) : the cable(fr. gumène) : and the fluke(fr. patte). In some coats the anchor has a chain attached instead of a cable.
