In the world of investing, anchoring bias manifests when investors rely heavily on initial information, such as past performance or a specific price, when making decision. In the case of(navigable rivers) the public have a right to use the river for navigation similar to the right which they have to pass along a public highway through private land, and an artificial navigable river may be dedicated as a public highway, but the analogy between a navigable river and a public highway is not complete. In the case of the soil of navigable rivers there may be also public rights incidental to the right of navigation, such as fixing moorings and anchoring. As regards the right of access, it is settled that in general a riparian owner on a navigable river has, subject to the public right of navigation, the same right of access to the river as such an owner has on a non-navigable river.(Gale on Easements, 14th ed., 1972, p. 237). 1, record 35, English, - right%20of%20navigation

From its close orbit above the tiny nucleus, Rosetta will be able to send back the most detailed images and information ever obtained of a comet. When a suitable landing site has been chosen, about a month after global mapping starts, the orbiter will release a 100 kg lander onto the comet's solid surface. Touchdown must be quite slow-less than one metre per second-to allow for the almost negligible gravitational pull of the tiny nucleus. In order to ensure that the lander does not bounce and disappear into space, an anchoring harpoon will be fired into the surface immediately on impact. 2, record 69, English, - anchoring%20harpoon

Penetrators as tools for exploring extraterrestrial solid surfaces have been developed for a couple of space missions to Mars, the Moon, comets, and the icy satellites of the giant planets. They are particularly useful to characterize the strength properties and the layering of planetary nearsurface layers. Being currently engaged with the development of an instrumented "anchoring harpoon" for the lander of ESA's comet mission Rosetta, we propose similar devices for application aboard future Mars lander missions. 3, record 69, English, - anchoring%20harpoon

A secondary novel technology to which the Company has exclusive rights is that of antibody-targeted liposomes. This technology involves the incorporation of an antimyosin antibody into liposome membranes that serves to target the immunoliposome to cytoskeletal protein exposed by cellular membrane lesions. Upon anchoring the liposome to the cell via the antibody the liposome presumably fuses with the cell membrane and repairs the lesion. In vitro and animal model studies have shown that this methodology has been able to preserve cell and tissue viability under anoxic/ischemic conditions. This technology may be able to limit the extent of heart muscle damage during heart attacks and myocarditis. 1, record 77, English, - immunoliposome

Both in Europe (E5, E9) and in Japan (J1, J3), reinforcement and cable systems mimic conventional reinforcement and tendon anchorage details, in the form of bonds with deformed bars or twisted strands and in metallic anchorage housings for prestressing tendons. In Japan, nonmetallic cable anchorages of GFRP were installed in one of the demonstration projects (J4). To eliminate tendon failures in the anchorage, new types of filler materials in the anchor cones need to be developed to ensure a gradual force transfer with constant shear stress distribution between the composite tendons and the anchor block housing. 1, record 84, English, - anchor%20cone

A longwall cutter-loader of the plough type, with two cutting blades, one at each end, operated by a hydraulic cylinder which can give a powerful thrust(about 42 tons) to the blades and cause them to bite into the coal. While this thrust is being exerted, the machine is anchored by means of a vertical jack which engages the roof and floor. The jack is built on sliding bars and the machine is moved by sliding the jack along the bars to the next position for anchoring the machine. It travels alongside the conveyor but is not connected to it. A loading ramp guides the cut coal on to the conveyor. The machine is employed in seams from 4 to 5 ft thick with a strong roof and floor. 2, record 92, English, - Samson%20stripper

1, record 92, French, - rabot%20automoteur%20Samson

Trees up to five inches in trunk diameter are normally supported by guying with the wires attached to stakes, these guy wires spaced at 120-degree angles. Wires may be fastened to the tree in the same manners already discussed, although in this instance all attachment point should be at least six inches apart. Attachment should be as high in the tree as practical and certainly at or above the lowest branches. Again, guy wires should be attached to stakes driven 18 inches into undisturbed soil. The axis of the stake should be in line with the axis of the pull on the guy wire. 3, record 93, English, - guying

Most large trees and shrubs require support staking or guying to hold them erect against buffeting winds. Wood or metal stakes are usual for single-trunked trees up to 3 inches in caliper and provide better support if used in pairs. Guy wiring with turnbuckles is used for anchoring large plant materials, and guy placement ordinarily follows either a triangular or rectangular pattern around the main stem. Both types of support require regular inspection for proper tauntness--up to a year for woody plants.... 2, record 93, English, - guying

1, record 93, French, - haubanage
