In general, the disclosure relates to a fall detection device that may be uniquely associated with a wearer. The fall detection device may predict and confirm a fall experienced by the wearer based on kinematic information of the wearer. In one example, the disclosure is directed to a device, comprising at least one kinematic sensor that measures kinematic information associated with a wearer of the device, the kinematic information including threshold kinematic information and fall event kinematic information, and a controller that analyzes the threshold kinematic information to determine whether a threshold indicative of a postural disturbance is satisfied, and determines whether a fall event is imminent based on the fall event kinematic information.... at least one kinematic sensor may include one or more of an accelerometer, a magnetometer, a pressure sensor, an altimeter, a velocity sensor, an angular velocity sensor or a gyroscope. 2, record 1, English, - kinematic%20sensor

Angular rate gyro accuracy is characterized by two parameters : scale factor and drift. The scale factor describes the capability of the gyro to accurately sense angular velocity at different angular rates... Gyro drift characterizes the ability of the gyro to reference all rate measurements to the nominal zero point. It appears as an additive term on the gyro output, so any actual drift away from a given or predetermined value will cause the angular errors to accumulate. 3, record 3, English, - gyro%20drift

Elastic collision law. An important detail which has not been discussed carefully enough in the literature is the collision law for particle–particle and particle–wall collisions in the presence of a deforming particle shape or deforming wall. The collision law that we use is an elastic one, in the following sense : linear andangular momentum are conserved, and the direction of the relative normal surface-to-surface velocityv[ cross-radial] at the point ofcontact is reversed upon collision(but the magnitude is unchanged). It is most convenient to consider binary collisions only and then just take the limit that the ‘‘mass’’ of a hard wall goes to infinity. 1, record 9, English, - elastic%20collision%20law

The single-axis inertial platform... The angular motions of the controlled member are sensed by the single-axis gyro. The output signal of the gyro is electronically processed and fed to the torque motor(TM) of the stable element and to the torque generator(TG) of the gyro. The problem is to determine how to do the electronic processing so that the controlled member maintains its orientation in spite of disturbances. The voltage across the output signal generator(SG) of the gyroscope is proportional to the integral of the angular velocity of the controlled member about the gyroscope's input axis. Consequently, this signal is fed to an amplifier and then to a motor, which drives the controlled member in the proper direction to null the ouptut of the gyroscope. 1, record 12, English, - output%20signal%20generator

Forced Precession. Consider now what happens when a rotating symmetric body is subjected to a torque. It is clear from Euler's equation that when the applied torque is parallel to the angular momentum, the body experiences an angular acceleration which changes the magnitude of the angular velocity but not its direction. However, that is where the analogy to the translational case ends. Strange as it may seem, the equation implies that the response of the rotor to a torque applied normal to the spin axis is to rotate in a direction normal to both the spin axis and the applied torque. This phenomenon is also called precession. 3, record 21, English, - Euler%26rsquo%3Bs%20equation

Angular rate gyro accuracy is characterized by two parameters : scale factor and drift. The scale factor describes the capability of the gyro to accurately sense angular velocity at different angular rates. This value is used to convert the voltage output from the gyro into an angular rate. System imperfections can cause small variations in the scale factor. These variations appear as a factor at the output of the gyro. Angular velocity is the time rate of change of angular displacement. More simply it is a measure of how fast an object is rotating. For example, the measure of a skater's spinning speed during a sit spin is called angular velocity. Angular velocity is calculated by subtracting the initial angular position from the final angular position and dividing by the time it took to get from the initial to final position. Angular velocity is measured in radians/second(SI units) or degrees/second or revolutions/second(English units). 4, record 29, English, - angular%20velocity

The Coriolis force experienced by an object moving with a velocity relative to a rotating reference frame can be used to sense this angular motion. By drawing an analogy between linear and rotational dynamics, an equation describing the viscous torque acting on an object rotating in a fluid can be anticipated. Stokes’ and Newton's models of a viscous drag force are commonly used to describe the damping force acting on an object moving linearly through a fluid. This experiment demonstrates that these models can be extended to describe the viscous torque that damps the rotation of an object in a fluid. When the rotating object is round, the fluid flow is laminar; hence, the viscous torque is proportional to the angular velocity to the first power, analogous to Stokes’ model. However, when the rotating object is rough, causing the fluid flow to be turbulent, the viscous torque is proportional to the angular velocity to the second power, analogous to Newton's model. In addition, this experiment demonstrates that the proportionality constant between viscous torque and angular velocity is dependent on the shape of the object, as is the case in both Stokes’ and Newton's models. 1, record 40, English, - viscous%20torque

Gyro drift characterizes the ability of the gyro to reference all rate measurements to the nominal zero point. 1, record 44, English, - angular%20rate%20gyro

3, record 45, French, - interf%C3%A9rom%C3%A8tre%20de%20Sagnac%20circulaire
