The data signals can be coded according to the specific user requirements and can include such information as the station orbital position.... The GTS uses a transmitter operating at two dedicated frequencies and mounted externally on the Russian Service Module. The GTS signals are available to ground receivers for periods of 5-12 min several times a day. An apparent target in a radar which does not correspond in position or frequency or both, to any real target, but which results from distortion or misinterpretation by the radar circuitry of other real target signals which are present. For example, it may result from range-Doppler ambiguities in the radar waveform used, from intermodulation distortion due to circuit amplitude nonlinearities, or from combining data from two antenna systems or waveforms. 1, record 14, English, - ghost%20target

The Air Traffic Control Transponder system provides the ground radar intercept controller with a distinguishing series of electronic pulses(response) from the airplane to the ground station, when triggered by a distinguishing series of electronic pulses(interrogation) from the ground station to the airplane. The transponder is capable of operation on 4, 096 interrogation and response codes in each of four modes of operation.... ATC Transponder system-1 and-2 are identical, each system consists of a receiver-transmitter, remote control panel, antenna, and associated interlocking circuits. Transponders-1 and-2 do not operate simultaneously. Selection of desired operating transponder is accomplished by placing the TFR(transfer) switch to-1 or-2 position for respective transponder operation. 2, record 16, English, - ATC%20transponder%20system
