Combined or hybrid dispute resolution processes are processes in which the dispute resolution practitioner plays multiple roles. For example, in conciliation and in conferencing, the dispute resolution practitioner may facilitate discussions, as well as provide advice on the merits of the dispute. In hybrid processes, such as med-arb [mediation-arbitration], the practitioner first uses one process(mediation) and then a different one(arbitration). 3, record 3, English, - hybrid%20alternative%20dispute%20resolution%20process

If a collective agreement cannot be achieved through negotiations, with or without the assistance of a mediator, voluntary interest arbitration can be considered. This option is available at any time during the collective bargaining negotiation process. This applies to any kind of bargaining, public or private sector, whether the right to strike/lockout exists, whether there are significant differences between the parties, and whether a dispute strike/lockout is imminent or underway. Both parties must agree to this process. Arbitration is binding.
