DEF

A chemical product in the form of a white, odourless, tasteless powder which is slightly soluble in water, is soluble in acids, alkalies and glycenol, is derived by smelting of copper and lead concentrates and is used in pigments, ceramic enamels, aniline colours, as a decolourizing agent in glass, as an insecticide, rodenticide, herbicide and preservative.

OBS

Condensation gives product of varying purity called crude arsenic (90-95% pure). A higher-purity oxide called white arsenic is obtained by resubliming the crude As2O3 (99+%pure).

CONT
