An axillary view of the scapula obtained with the patient standing, arm raised, and the central ray directed 30° toward the feet. The shoulder on the affected side is placed against the cassette while the normal shoulder is tilted forward. The posterior surface of the arm is in contact with the cassette, the elbow angled 90° and the anterior surface of the forearm resting on the head. Used to visualize lesions on the anterior inferior glenoid rim in patients with anterior instability of the shoulder. Any of a variety of neurovascular syndromes resulting from compression of the subclavian artery, the brachial plexus nerve trunks, or less often the axillary vein or subclavian vein, by thoracic outlet abnormalities such as a drooping shoulder girdle, a cervical rib or fibrous band, an abnormal first rib, or occasionally compression of the edge of the scalenus anterior muscle. Continual hyperabduction of the arm may cause another variety(hyperabductions). Arterial compression leads to ischemia, paresthesias, numbness, and weakness of the affected arm, sometimes with Raynaud's phenomenon of the arm. Nerve compression causes atrophy and weakness of the muscles of the hand and, in advanced cases, of the forearm, with pain and sensory disturbances in the arm. Venous obstruction usually takes the form of the Paget-Schroetter syndrome. 1, record 22, English, - thoracic%20outlet%20syndrome

There is a technique called sentinel lymph node sampling that removes fewer lymph nodes than a traditional complete axillary node dissection. Many women are candidates for the sentinel lymph node technique, which has fewer complications than the complete axillary node dissection. If, however, there is cancer present in the sentinel lymph nodes, then more nodes are removed and this is referred to as a complete level 1 and level 2 axillary lymph node dissection. 4, record 24, English, - sentinel%20lymph%20node%20sampling
