An idle-stop system, also commonly known as a start-stop system, is essentially what makes up today's increasingly popular so-called mild hybrids.... The battery in a mild hybrid is still very important, but its main purpose is as a part of the idle-stop system that shuts off the gasoline engine when a mild hybrid is at rest, coasting or slowing down. For instance, a stop at a red light at an intersection will cause the engine to cut off. When the car is idle, no gas will burn inside the engine. Once the light turns green and the driver applies pressure to the gas pedal, the engine should switch back on seamlessly, as though it hadn’t been turned off at all. 1, record 13, English, - idle%2Dstop%20system

On the beach the top of the wave breaks and mingles with the foot of the wave, both dashing forward with a force driven by the energy from the height and speed of the collapsing wave. The resulting rush of water is fast and strong and moves sand effortlessly up the beach. The water then comes to a rest as the sand particles settle out. The water then begins flowing back down the beach, first slowly and then faster until it dislodges cohesive sand grains. But the forcing power is much less than that of the on-rushing waves. The particles that settled at the top of the forward rush, stay because of the hysteresis(lagging behind) between erosion speed and settling speed... 3, record 17, English, - hysteresis

Several different terminologies have been used to describe physiological acceleration. Since the terminology may be based either on the action of the accelerating vehicle or the reaction of the passenger, the terms used are often confusing to a reader without prior knowledge of the system of terminology used. Probably the most easily understood system is the eyeballs in, eyeballs out, eyeballs down, eyeballs up, etc., terminology used by test pilots, which refers to the sensations experienced by the person being accelerated. Thus, the acceleration experienced in an aircraft pullout or inside loop is eyeballs down. Note that, in the NASA vehicle(center of gravity displacement) terminology, this is-az acceleration. Some physiological-acceleration terminologies designate accelerations in terms of the equivalent displacement acceleration of the subject as if he were starting from rest. In such terminologies a man standing up or sitting down on the surface of the earth is experiencing 1 g of headward acceleration because of gravity. Other descriptive terms used in this way are footward, forward(the acceleration experienced by a man pressed into the seat back by an accelerating vehicle), rearward, leftward, rightward, spineward, sternumward, and tailward. One terminology based on reaction uses the terms head-to-foot(the acceleration generated by a pullout in an aircraft), chest-to-back, foot-to-head, and back-to-chest. 2, record 22, English, - chest%2Dto%2Dback%20acceleration

Acceleration of the body in the direction from back to the chest. 2, record 25, English, - back%2Dto%2Dchest%20acceleration
Record number: 25, Textual support number: 1 OBS
3, record 25, English, - back%2Dto%2Dchest%20acceleration

Another innovation is the back-surface reflector(BSR). Even in photovoltaic devices operating at theoretical maximum efficiency, less than 40% of the light to which it is sensitive is absorbed by the cell and converted to electricity. The rest travels through unabsorbed and becomes a system loss. However, the BSR reflects this light back through the cell for a second pass, which greatly increases the conversion efficiency. Also, the BSR reflects radiation to which the cell is not sensitive. This radiation is called out-of-band radiation, and cannot be converted to electricity with this given material bandgap. By reflecting the out-of-band radiation back through the cell, it passes back out the front to the heat source where it is recycled.(Essentially, it helps keep the heat source hot so less fuel is required.) 2, record 26, English, - back%20surface%20reflector
