Record number: 8, Textual support number: 2 OBS
2, record 8, French, - penthouse
Record number: 8, Textual support number: 3 OBS

The train stopped just inside Block 3 is protected by Signal A125, but only if the second train stops at the signal correctly. Should it run past the signal, it will get "tripped" by the trainstop of A125. However, there is insufficient room for the train to stop before it collides with the first train. The safe braking distance is too short. To overcome this situation, each signal is moved back a safe braking distance from the entrance to the block. This distance is called the overlap... The overlap now provides a safe braking distance for any train which overruns a signal so that there is no risk of it colliding with a stopped train in front. 2, record 14, English, - overlap

A floating flame is an indication that there is a lack of secondary air to the flame. In severe cases, the flame will leave the burner and have the appearance of a floating cloud. Again, the intermediate products of combustion are apt to escape from place to place wherever sufficient air for combustion may be found. This flame is sometimes hard to detect because, as the door to the equipment is opened sufficient air will be admitted to allow the flame to rest on the burner properly. However, the obnoxious odor of aldehydes may still be detected. Another possible cause of this flame is an improperly operating vent system. If the products of combustion cannot escape, fresh air cannot reach the flame 1, record 17, English, - floating%20flame
Record number: 17, Textual support number: 2 CONT
When a flame raises off the burner it is important to determine if it is a "lifting flame" or a "floating flame" :"Lifting Flames" rise from the ports to burn some distance above the ports. In some cases these flames will drop back to the port and lift again intermittently. They are caused by too much primary air. Decreasing the shutter opening will stop lifting flames. "Floating Flames" are long and lazy looking, poorly defined, quiet flames which roll around the combustion chamber sometimes completely off the ports. Floating flames result from too little secondary or "make up" air. Lack of secondary air can be caused by incorrect venting, clogged flueways, blocked secondary air inlet openings, or lack of natural room makeup air to the oven. 2, record 17, English, - floating%20flame

British Gas and Tracto-Technik jointly developed the technology called pipe bursting, which "allows the replacement of cast iron, clay, cement, and other fracturable pipes with a new main of the same or larger size for water, sewer, or production lines. "... Pipe bursting involves digging an entry pit at one end of the failed pipe and running a pneumatic pipe-bursting tool and an expander into the pipe through the pit opening. The pipe-bursting tool is a soil displacement hammer fitted with cutting blades. A steel line, attached to the head of the tool and to a winch on the other end of the pipe, keeps the line tight and helps guide the tool. As the pipe burster hammers through old pipe, the expander moves broken fragments and dirt out of the way to make room for new pipe, which is attached to the back of the tool and follows it into the void. abattage par chambre remblayée : Exploitation par tranches montantes remblayées. 2, record 25, French, - abattage%20par%20chambre%20remblay%C3%A9e%20m%C3%A9canis%C3%A9

The condenser is also a Model no. 06036 shell and tube exchanger, identical to the reboiler with a few modifications : The baffles have been cut at the bottom where they meet the shell to allow condensate to flow out of the shell. The tube side has four passes for maximum heat transfer on the tube side. It is mounted nearly horizontally. The inlet end is a couple of inches higher than the outlet to allow condensate to drain out the low end. A few tubes have been removed at the top to give the vapor more room to distribute itself along the length of the shell. There is a vent on the shell side near the outlet end to allow non-condensable gases to leave. The vent gases pass through the inside of a 36" double pipe condenser so that any condensable gasses will condense out and run down the walls back into the condenser. 2, record 26, English, - double%2Dpipe%20exchanger

A method of stoping in which the walls and back of the excavation are supported by a system of interlocking framed timbers(square set). A square set of timber consists of a vertical post and two horizontal members set at mutually right angles. The mining process is slow and only enough ore is excavated to provide room for installation of each successive set of timber. The stopes are usually mined out in floors or horizontal panels, and the sets of each successive are framed into the top of the preceding floor. 3, record 27, English, - square%2Dset%20stoping

The modern garden prototype emerged out of a changed conception of what a garden should be.... It is typically small and enclosed by fences or walls, frequently confined to the back of the lot, the front being occupied with garage, guest parking and entry. The entire garden space is divided according to uses and the outdoor areas are connected by doors to the rooms of the house, e. g., kitchen to herbs, vegetables, garbage, and storage, living room to terrace and barbecue. It is used intensively for outdoor recreation, games, sunbathing, swimming, eating and drinking. Privacy is desirable. This garden type seems to represent the ideal for people of all income groups in many parts of the world today. 2, record 33, English, - modern%20garden

2, record 33, French, - jardin%20moderne
