Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Indicateur de virage et d'inclinaison latérale. [...]

V-bar : Flight Director Indicator... The V-bar command indicator is a pair of yellow, wedge-shaped V-bars that move up or down to command a climb or descent, and roll left or right to command a bank. The flight director system commands the V-bars to capture and track the selected heading or radio signals; or to maintain a desired pitch angle, glidepath, or an optimum speed during SC(speed command) operation. To satisfy the commands, the aircraft is maneuvered so that the airplane symbol is flown into the V-bars until the two are aligned. Input signals to the V-bars depend upon the mode of operation. The V-bars are biased from view by the instrument failure warning system; when loss of signal occurs, or sensing circuits fail that are associated with the selected mode of operation. Principal Attitude Indicator Errors. Turn Error. During a normal coordinated turn, centrifugal force causes the gyro to precess toward the inside of the turn. This precession increases as the bank steepens; therefore, it is greatest during the actual turn. The error disappears as the aircraft rolls out at the end of a 180 degrees turn at a normal rollout rate. Therefore, when performing a steep turn, the pilot may use the attitude indicator for rolling in and out of the turn, but should use other instruments(VSI and altimeter) during the turn for specific pitch information. 4, record 19, English, - turn%20error

Turn and slip indicator. The instrument is comprised of two components.-The turn needle is an electrically driven gyroscope which indicates the rate of turn. The marks(often called the doghouse) on either side of center represents a bank angle of 15 degrees. This is termed a standard rate turn. The rate of turn is 3 degrees per second. It takes 2 minutes to turn 360 degrees.-The glass level containing the black ball is called the inclinometer. It provides the pilot with a measure of the turn quality. 2, record 21, English, - mark

[The turn coordinator] is a level, with a ball that shows the pilot the direction and rate of the turn. The ball shows the quality or coordination of the turn and the dipped wing tells the angle of bank. In more complex airplanes, the TC is often a gyro and is part of the vacuum system. The turn coordinator "backs up" the information from the attitude indicator. 3, record 22, English, - ball

2, record 22, French, - bille
