For example, β could be the probability of concluding that an intervention is not effective when it has a true effect. (1-β) is the statistical power of a test allowing for rejection of a null hypothesis that is truly false (e.g. detecting the effect of an intervention that truly exists). 1, record 1, English, - false%20negative%20error

Since the specified limit is for residual contamination, the use of swipes as a method of measurement may also lead to underestimating the true level of contamination, although it is useful for determining the amount of material which is readily removable at that time. Because of the above consideration, the recommended method of determining compliance with the criteria is through the use of a beta contamination monitor, properly calibrated for measuring the beta particles from natural uranium. If this instrument is used assuming that its entire response is due to beta radiation, any error will be in the safe direction. 1, record 2, English, - beta%20contamination%20monitor

1, record 2, French, - moniteur%20de%20contamination%20b%C3%AAta
