BRAIN BASED LEARNING [5 records]

Record 1 2024-05-09

English

Subject field(s)
  • Artificial Intelligence
CONT

Learning systems. Eventually, AI(artificial intelligence) machines will be able to learn. Many learning systems, especially early ones, are based on the physiological structure of the brain.

CONT

A "learner" is any system that embodies a learning function.

CONT

Learning systems have any number of levels that might not require any form of intelligence. ... A learning system can only be required to recognize a pattern and react to it. ... However, what is the desired goal of a learning system that utilizes the vast technology available for the accumulation and presentation of information? The intelligence associated with such systems will prevail.

Subject field(s)
  • Artificial Intelligence
CONT

A capsule neural network is a type of deep learning architecture that is designed to better model hierarchical relationships. Unlike traditional neural networks, which are based on a flat, fully-connected structure, capsule neural networks are based on a hierarchical structure that is similar to the way that the brain processes information.

CONT

Les réseaux de capsules – réseaux neuronaux profonds d'un type nouveau – traitent les informations visuelles quasiment comme le cerveau.

CONT

Brain-based learning has been called a combination of brain science and common sense. Hart(1983) called the brain "the organ of learning. "He advocated learning more about the brain in order to design effective learning environments. Caine and Caine(1991) developed twelve principles that apply what we know about the function of the brain to teaching and learning. These principles were derived from an exploration of many disciplines and are viewed as a framework for thinking about teaching methodology.

CONT

Many learning systems, especially early ones, are based on the physiological structure of the brain. Developers of these systems believe that the brain is very much like a computer that contains a relational data base. For example, in a relational data base, each piece of data contains information as to the addresses of other pieces of data.... The solving of a problem comes to the thinker by association-one fact or piece of data leading to the next. We refer to this method of information processing in a computer as a looping structure.
