Bronze disease is the irreversible and nearly inexorable corrosion process occurring when chlorides come into contact with bronze or other copper-bearing alloys. It occurs as a dark green or a lighter fuzzy green coating on copper, bronze, and other copper-bearing alloys generally due either to contamination by salt water or after burial in dirt(as chloride salts are generally present in soil to some degree). If not treated, complete destruction of the affected artefact is possible. Transfer of chlorides from the contaminated artefact to other artefacts can spread the condition. 2, record 21, English, - bronze%20disease

A study was conducted examining the rates of development of components of the reproductive tract during sexual maturation in a flock of naturally mating Bronze turkeys. Birds were processed at 7-d intervals beginning at photostimulation(29. 5 wk of age), for the following 5 wk, and following their first oviposition. The relatively low BW of this strain(6. 6 kg) was associated with a very low lipid content(16. 4%), abdominal fat pad weight(107 g), and breast muscle weight(1. 15 kg). At sexual maturity the ovary contained 12. 2 large yellow follicles with 1. 4 unreconciled POF(the remnant of the site of ovulation). The presence of unreconciled POF suggest that this may be a natural phenomenon in turkeys and not limited to modern fast growing strains. 3, record 29, English, - unreconciled%20POF

Copper Age. According to the principles of the Three Age System, it should strictly mean the period when Copper was the main material for man's basic tools and weapons. It is difficult to apply in this sense as copper at its first appearance was very scarce, and experimentation with alloying seems to have begun very soon. The alternative names of Chalcolithic and Eneolithic, implying the joint use of copper and stone, are little better since stone continued in use beside bronze to a much later period. However, in many sequences, notably in Europe and Asia, there is a period between the Neolithic and Bronze Age, separated from each by breaks in the cultural development, within which copper was coming into use. For this the term is a convenient one. In Asia it saw the origins of civilization, in Europe the great folk movements of the Beaker and Corded Ware cultures, and perhaps the introduction of the Indo-European languages. 7, record 54, English, - Copper%20Age

Record number: 54, Textual support number: 1 OBS
6, record 54, French, - Chalcolithique

There are 11 antennal segments. The 5th antennal segment is longer than the 4th or 6th in the female beetle and longer and broader than the 4th or 6th in the male beetle Burgess, 1977). Cabbage Flea Beetle. Phyllotreta albionica (Lec.). This beetle, which is found in most parts of Canada, attacks cabbage and many other plants of the Cruciferae family .... The cabbage flea beetle overwinters in the adult stage, usually in the soil in the fields, or in leaf litter or turf under hedges, trees and fence rows. There is one generation annually, with mating and egg laying occurring in the spring and the adults usually dying in late June or early July. The newly hatched larvae live in the soil and feed on the roots of host plants, where they also pupate. 4, record 59, English, - cabbage%20flea%20beetle
