Subject field(s)

DEF

A power burner in which a fan, or blower, blows air at high velocity past turbulators. The gas, at regulated pressure, is released into the turbulent airstream-typically from a ring at the mouth of the burner(in which case it is also called a ring burner). The gas escapes through orifices around the periphery of the ring. Gas and air are adjusted simultaneously to maintain the proper air-fuel ratio as the firing rate changes. In high-pressure gun burners, the gas is ejected at pressures up to 15 psi from spuds located in the center of the turbulent airstream instead of at the outside.

DEF

A burner by means of which more than 1 fuel can be burned, either separately or simultaneously.

OBS

A Dual-Fuel Burner uses 1 prime fuel, but can switch to a standby fuel under peak load conditions. A Gas-Oil Burner is capable of burning either gas or oil-some types can burn both at the same time. Examples of a Combination Burner :-Pressure-Atomizing Oil/Gas Ring Burner.-Horizontal Rotary Oil/Gas Ring Burner.-Combination of 2 burners(under separate supervision) in 1 assembly.

DEF

Oil burner in which oil in a liquid stream is fed against a ring of wall inside the combustion chamber.

CONT

Rotary Wall-Flame Burner. The rotary wall-flame burner breaks the oil into particles by means of tubes on a rotating distributor. The air for combustion is provided by a blower. Combustion takes place when the fuel and air reach a flame ring where the igniter is located. The distributor is set on a vertical motor shaft, which turns the distributor to spread the atomized fuel evenly around the flame ring, which encircles the hearth at its extremities.

OBS

Vertical rotary burners consist of two types: the wall-flame burner and the sunflower-flame burner. ... The wall-flame vertical rotary is a combination centrifugal-action and vaporizing burner.
