The interactions between the water and CO2 phase allow geochemical trapping mechanisms to take effect. ... Dissolved CO2 can eventually react with reservoir minerals ... Further breakdown of these minerals could precipitate new carbonate minerals that would fix injected CO2 in its most secure state (i.e., mineral trapping - dominates over thousands to millions of years). 2, record 2, English, - mineral%20trapping
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 2 CONT
The third mechanism is mineral trapping, which occurs when dissolved CO2 reacts with either aqueous species or the mineral matrix to precipitate as a solid, most likely a calcium, iron, or magnesium carbonate. 3, record 2, English, - mineral%20trapping

3, record 2, French, - pi%C3%A9geage%20min%C3%A9ral
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 2 CONT
4, record 2, French, - pi%C3%A9geage%20min%C3%A9ral

The extraction of gold and silver from their ores. The process is only applicable to these metals. The solvent is a weak solution of sodium or calcium cyanide which, when aerated, easily dissolves the precious metals. They are then recovered by agitating the "pregnant" solution with aluminium or zinc in the form of dust or shavings and filtering out the precipitate which is then melted and cast into bars(bullion). 4, record 4, English, - cyanide%20process

The traditional calcium acid sulfite cook must be carried out at a low pH of about 1. 5 because of the relative insolubility of calcium. A higher pH would cause sealing compounds to precipitate during cooking, leading to a condition known as "liming up" of the digester(i. e., the reaction vessel). 1, record 5, English, - liming%20up

Cold-process carbonate and silica removal. The silica content of a natural water can be greatly reduced by treating the water with a calcium and iron silico-aluminate complex, which forms at normal temperature. It is obtained by adding suitable doses of sodium aluminate and ferric chloride to the water at the same time as the lime. The precipitate then contains, simultaneously, calcium carbonate and the complex of silica, alumina and iron. 1, record 7, English, - cold%2Dprocess%20silica%20removal

1, record 7, French, - d%C3%A9siliciage%20%C3%A0%20froid
