Mineral carbonation refers to the fixation of CO2 using alkaline and alkaline-earth oxides, such as magnesium oxide(MgO) and calcium oxide(CaO), which are present in naturally occurring silicate rocks such as serpentine and olivine. Chemical reactions between these materials and CO2 produce compounds such as magnesium carbonate(MgCO3) and calcium carbonate(CaCO3, commonly known as limestone). 2, record 49, English, - mineral%20carbonation

Electric Arc Furnace Dust(EAF Dust) is the airborne dust generated in the steel manufacturing process when metal scrap is electrically melted. It is typically only about 1. 5% of the output from a typical mini-mill, but creates an environmental problem which must be handled intelligently. The material is a calcium iron silicate with contaminants of heavy metals such as lead, zinc, cadmium, chromium and others. 4, record 50, English, - electric%20arc%20furnace%20dust

In a typical electric arc furnace (EAF) operation for melting iron-containing scrap, approximately one to two per cent of the charge is converted into dust which is collected in the baghouse. These EAF dusts have been classified as hazardous wastes due to their lead, cadmium and hexavalent chromium contents; however, these dusts also contain large quantities of zinc and iron whose recovery is economically attractive. 5, record 50, English, - electric%20arc%20furnace%20dust

The two basic components of coatings are pigment and vehicle. The pigments provide color and hiding power. Also found within the pigment group are titanium, calcium carbonate, and silicate. Titanium is used to form a film that bonds with paint binders(resin), and together they are responsible for adhesion, providing resistance against blistering, chalking and stains, and offer superior color retention. Calcium carbonate smoothes the titanium out. Without the calcium carbonate, titanium would ball up. Silicates provide hardness. 2, record 62, English, - silicate

3, record 62, French, - silicate

A process for manufacturing alumina(Al2 O3). The raw material, such as clay or anorthosite, is sintered with limestone and soda ash to form sodium aluminate and calcium silicate. The sinter is then leached with water, caustic soda solution, or sodium aluminate liquor to dissolve the soluble, sodium aluminate. DMMRT. 1, record 71, English, - lime%2Dsoda%20sinter%20process

Aluminium 5. - TEING M8 M23382. 1, record 71, French, - proc%C3%A9d%C3%A9%20chaux%2Dsoude
