A bioactive implant material used in the repair of [teeth and] bone defects.

CONT

Silicon, calcium, sodium and phosphorus, the elements contained in bioactive glass, are released, but only if the proper mixture is used. Minerals are then added to the surrounding surfaces to form a hydroxyl apatite(HA) layer that resembles the mineral structure of the bone tissue. At the same time, this facilitates regeneration of bony tissue and this contributes towards accelerating the healing process.

bioglass: originally a trademark name that is now used as a common name.

Since "bio-glass" is a shortened form of "biological glass", it cannot be a spelling variant of "bioglass."

Il a été étudié dans les mêmes conditions comme élément de comparaison. À sa surface, de l'apatite cristallisée commence à se former au bout de 12 heures. Ce verre est donc légèrement plus bioactif que les composés du système ternaire étudié.
