Anhedonia, roughly defined as the diminishment or absence of the capacity to experience pleasure or joy in the performance of daily activities, is a core symptom of major depressive disorder, as well as other psychiatric illnesses.... According to the capacity theory, anhedonia is a matter of the cap on this maximum amount of pleasure being significantly lowered. An anhedonic person is simply unable to ever experience the amount of pleasure that a non-anhedonic person can, and consequently fails to experience the same amount of pleasure from certain activities as they used to. 3, record 2, English, - anhedonic%20person

Mental fitness refers to the intentional practices and skills that help the mind function at its best. It's a proactive approach, more like physical training than physical health monitoring. Where mental health is a state of being, mental fitness is the deliberate strengthening of the mind. Mental fitness involves developing qualities such as resilience, focus, adaptability, emotional regulation, and cognitive flexibility. It's not about eliminating difficult emotions or striving for constant positivity. It equips people with the capacity to navigate challenges more effectively, recover from stress, and maintain clarity during pressure. Crucially, mental fitness is not the absence of mental illness. Someone managing depression, anxiety, or another condition can still practise mental fitness and benefit from it. 2, record 6, English, - mental%20fitness

When cronyism becomes prevalent in a business context, it can lead to a system of crony capitalism. In this system, business performance relies on political connections rather than market forces. In recent years, the performance of supercomputers skyrocketed, and at the same time, the access for data scientists to high performance computing technologies has been democratized, offering to policy makers the unprecedented opportunity for creating tailored policy using a completely synthetic population. Policy simulation models can take as input synthetic individuals that resemble the actual ones but are stripped out of their identities, as they are synthetic by design. Synthetic individuals are created by interlinking census data, behavioural surveys and other available data sets and the result is a synthetic population with average statistics similar to the actual one by design, to the point that one is not able to tell if an individual belongs to the real or to the synthetic population, with the advantage of being relieved of most privacy concerns. 3, record 28, English, - synthetic%20person

2, record 29, French, - population%20synth%C3%A9tique

Vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) is a protein produced by cells in your body. VEGF produces new blood vessels when your body needs them.... Sometimes cells can produce too much VEGF. When this happens, abnormal blood vessels can grow in your eye. These abnormal blood vessels damage your eye and harm your vision. This can lead to low vision or blindness. Anti-VEGF medicine blocks VEGF, which reduces leaking abnormal blood vessels in the retina. This slows or stops damage from the abnormal blood vessels and slows down vision loss. Sometimes it can even improve vision. Examples range from simple and familiar devices such as magnifying glasses to technologically sophisticated equipment such as closed-circuit televisions that enlarge print and reverse the field(showing white on black, rather than the opposite). These devices make it possible for many people with visual impairments to read print and to perform other visual tasks... 3, record 46, English, - low%2Dvision%20aid

The vitreoretinal interface is involved in a wide range of vitreoretinal disorders and separation of the posterior vitreous face from the retinal surface is an essential part of vitrectomy surgeries. A diverse range of enzymatic and non-enzymatic agents are being studied as an adjunct before or during vitrectomy to facilitate the induction of posterior vitreous detachment.... Agents used for pharmacologic vitreolysis can be categorized as "enzymatic" or "nonenzymatic" according to their mechanism of action. The majority of proposed agents for pharmacologic vitreolysis are enzymes which include but are not limited to tissue plasminogen activator(tPA), plasmin, microplasmin, nattokinase, chondroitinase, dispase, and hyaluronidase. Macular translocation is a term used to describe any surgical procedure that involves the deliberate detachment of the retina with subsequent repositioning of the macula to a new location relative to the underlying retinal pigment epithelium. By moving the fovea away from abnormal pigment epithelium and/or choroid and repositioning it over more normal tissue, macular function can be stabilized or improved. 3, record 63, English, - macular%20translocation%20surgery
Record number: 63, Textual support number: 2 CONT
There are several different macular translocation techniques currently in use ... The various forms of macular translocation may be broadly classified into three categories depending on the size of the retinotomy/retinotomies used: (i) macular translocation with 360° peripheral circumferential retinotomy ..., (ii) macular translocation with large (but less than 360°) circumferential retinotomy ..., and (iii) macular translocation with either small (self-sealing) or no retinotomy/retinotomies, with or without chorioschleral infolding or outfolding ... The rationale of macular translocation is that moving the neurosensory retina of the fovea in an eye with recent-onset subfoveal CNV [choroidal neovascularization] to a new location before permanent retinal damage occurs may allow it to recover or maintain its visual function over a healthier bed of retinal pigment epithelium (RPE)—Bruch’s membrane-choriocapillaris complex. 4, record 63, English, - macular%20translocation%20surgery

When foveal detachment occurs in eyes with MF [myopic foveoschisis], surgery is necessary to prevent further deterioration. Vitrectomy and complete ILM peeling have been suggested to flatten the retina, but postoperative MH [macular holes] has been reported to occur in approximately 20% of cases. ILM peeling removes the Müller cone cells, which form the base of the fovea and serve as a plug that binds the photoreceptor cells in the foveola and supports the foveola structurally. The stretched retina in a highly myopic eye can easily induce a MH without this structure. To prevent postoperative MH, fovea-sparing ILM peeling was introduced. Studies have shown that this technique can prevent MH formation very effectively. A piece of ILM is preserved in the center of fovea to prevent damage to the Müller cone cells during surgery... 3, record 65, English, - fovea%2Dsparing%20internal%20limiting%20membrane%20peeling

1, record 73, French, - h%C3%A9patite%20non%20A%2C%20non%20B%20post%2Dtransfusionnelle

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) is an ongoing lung condition caused by damage to the lungs. The damage results in swelling and irritation, also called inflammation, inside the airways that limit airflow into and out of the lungs. This limited airflow is known as obstruction. Symptoms include trouble breathing, a daily cough that brings up mucus and a tight, whistling sound in the lungs called wheezing. COPD is most often caused by long-term exposure to irritating smoke, fumes, dust or chemicals. The most common cause is cigarette smoke.... Cyber deception is an active way to defend a network by rendering it a hostile environment to an attacker. Deception techniques operate once the attacker has bypassed the perimeter defences and gained access to a network, endpoint, operating system, or application. Once inside, deception technology attempts to mislead, confuse, and expose the attacker by causing them to unwittingly reveal sufficient information about their methods so they can be efficiently purged, or by causing fear and uncertainty such that they abandon their attack. 2, record 77, English, - cyber%20deception
