The Joint Advisory Committee on Cancer Control is a multi-disciplinary cancer control advisory Board that assists the Canadian Cancer Society and the National Cancer Institute of Canada Boards, both proactively and upon request, to fulfill their role as national facilitators for cancer control planning, programs and research. It provides support by : identifying and advising the National Cancer Institute of Canada and the Canadian Cancer Society about opportunities for initiating or strengthening cancer control research, particularly as it relates to unmet needs for information, strategies, and/or initiatives; providing evidence-informed advice and knowledge about key cancer control issues – either through its own efforts or with the assistance of additional qualified experts in cancer; conducting environmental scans and reporting to the Canadian Cancer Society and National Cancer Institute of Canada on gaps in cancer control practice in Canada with particular reference to Canadian Cancer Society and National Cancer Institute of Canada's goals; advising the Boards of the Canadian Cancer Society and the National Cancer Institute of Canada about internal and external partnerships with professional organizations and agencies with a mandate in cancer control.  1, record 56, English, - Joint%20Advisory%20Committee%20on%20Cancer%20Control
