Le déficit de la réponse au PRP est fréquent, qu'il soit associé à un déficit immunitaire primitif ou secondaire ou qu'il soit isolé, et joue certainement un grand rôle dans la survenue d'infections invasives. A vaccine that is composed of long chains of sugar molecules that resemble the surface of certain types of bacteria.

Licensed meningococcal vaccines are prepared from purified bacterial capsular polysaccharides, according to standard requirements(WHO [World Health Organization], 1976a). Products available are monovalent group A or C, bivalent A+C, or tetravalent A+C+Y+W135 polysaccharide vaccines.

OBS

Polysaccharide vaccines are available for pneumococcal disease, meningococcal disease and Haemophilus Influenzae type b.

Les vaccins antiméningococciques qui ont reçu l'autorisation de mise sur le marché sont préparés conformément aux spécifications habituelles à partir de polyosides capsulaires bactériens purifiés (OMS [Organisation mondiale de la santé], 1976a). Ces vaccins polyosidiques existent sous les formes suivantes : vaccin monovalent anti-groupe A, vaccin monovalent anti-groupe B, vaccin bivalent anti-groupes A et C et vaccin tétravalent anti-groupes A, C, Y et W135.

OBS

Des vaccins polyosidiques existent pour les pathologies à pneumocoque, à méningocoque, et à Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib). Parfois aussi appelé vaccin polysaccharide.
