They are a key tool in combatting terrorism by stopping terrorists before they reach Canada or by intercepting them at our ports of entry. Since September 11, the number of names on watch lists has grown dramatically. At Canada's airports, Customs officers on the primary inspection line check the names of arriving passengers against the watch lists. Every airline has maintenane program for each type of aircraft it operates. The programs are developed jointly with the manufacturers of the equipment and, as mentioned above, must be approved by the FAA. Each involves a series of increasingly complex inspection and maintenance steps pegged to an aircraft's flying time, calendar time, or number of landings and takeoffs. With each step, maintenance personnel probe deeper and deeper into the aircraft, taking apart more and more components for closer and closer inspection. Park is open year-round and the Rogers Pass Information Centre is open 5 days a week. There are 2 campgrounds in the park containing 77 campsites. Glacier also has some designated backcountry camping areas as well as areas where random camping is allowed. Backcountry campers are not required to register, however there is a voluntary registration program. Visitors should check with the park in advance of their trip to find out what services are provided. Visitors overnighting in the backcountry are required to purchase Wilderness Passes(based on the number of nights stayed), this in addition to a daily park pass. The Rogers Pass Information Centre is the main interpretive and general information centre for Glacier National Park. The Rogers Pass Information Centre is located in the heart of the park. It is 70 kms east of Revelstoke, B. C. and 80 kms west of Golden, B. C. The Centre is open daily, mid-May through September and December through March, the remainder of the year the Centre is open 5 days a week.

Light patterns : A Los Angeles-based company, Light Signatures, Inc., creates its fingerprints by extracting random patterns inherent within the product itself. A computerized processor passes a high-intensity light beam through a paper label to be affixed to merchandise. The processor captures a picture of the tangled web of fibers in the paper, digitizes it and converts it into a number, which is printed on the label. Forgers can copy the numbers on the labels, but they can’t match the code to the fiber pattern.
