Depuis un départ en flexion, on allège les skis par une extension, les laissant prendre la ligne de pente; pendant la portion aérienne du mouvement, on transfère le poids du ski intérieur au ski extérieur au virage. Les skis sont en parallèle durant tout le mouvement. Si la pression est maintenue à la fin du virage, le skieur en vient à un point d'arrêt, mais en enchaînant avec une autre extension, il peut poursuivre sa descente en une succession de virages parallèles.
