A form of high-temperature attack on stainless steels, nickel-chromium alloys, and nickel-chromium iron alloys subjected to simultaneous oxidation and carburization.

OBS

Basically, attack occurs by first precipitating chromium as chromium carbide, then oxidizing the carbide particles.
